Oceans • Cajon Playthrough

Oceans, a request from Hillsong, asks the Holy Spirit to grow our faith. The song features long sections without drums, but when drums appear the tom rhythms are especially engaging, making it challenging to translate into a cajon arrangement. I’ve never played this song live; it was popular in college but fell out of favor later. My goal with these videos is to offer a simplified cajon version that preserves the feel and rhythms of a drum kit without flashy embellishments. I’ll focus on cajon and occasional shaker, avoiding extra percussion that I sometimes add to an acoustic set. If you have questions about playing cajon or my approach, feel free to ask.
