At a supposedly bipartisan event in Des Moines, Iowa, celebrating America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, former President Donald Trump used his speech to attack Democrats, declaring, “I hate them, too.” Speaking at the podium on Thursday, Trump immediately started firing off political cannons. “They wouldn’t vote only because they hate Trump, but I hate them, too, you know?” he said, referring to Democrats who voted against his “Big Beautiful Bill,” which the House sent to the president’s desk after a tight vote. “I really do. I hate them. I cannot stand them, because I really believe they hate our country,” he added. Though the event was meant to unite Americans ahead of July 4, Trump turned it into a partisan rally, boasting about Congress passing his “One Big Beautiful Bill” and calling it a birthday gift for the country, DNYUZ reported. He also urged using Democrats’ opposition to the bill as ammunition in the coming midterms, despite organizers saying the event was meant to be non‑political and inclusive.
