On the night of 7 Farvardin 1367, the National Liberation Army of Iran, with the 15th Combat Division and the Lioness Division of the Mujahideen, launched a massive assault against the forces of the Khomeini regime along a 30‑km front west of Shush in Khuzestan. The operation, part of the Sun Operation, struck the 77th Khomeini Corps—a unit noted for its training, equipment, and role in the Kurdish campaign and the massacre of defenseless civilians. The attack broke the corps, destroying ten battalions and capturing 508 men. The operation culminated in the final victory of the Sun Operation, leading to the capture of the war‑torn furnace’s neck.
