We flew 12 hours with a 7‑month‑old daughter, landed in Jeddah, and discovered that filming in public is restricted but cell phone footage is allowed. We paid a $40 taxi fare, overpaying after the driver raised the price. We stayed in a $100 Airbnb and explored the city, noting the friendly locals and the quiet sunset at the Jeddah Corniche. We tried local food, first encountering a liver‑only restaurant before finding a Turkish place that impressed us.
