Ashoka University Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad Arrested Over Social Media Remarks I Op Sindoor

Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad was arrested in Delhi after a Haryana State Commission for Women notice regarding his social media comments on the media optics of Operation Sindoor, which allegedly disparaged women officers and promoted communal disharmony. The arrest followed a BJP leader's complaint and a suo motu action by the Commission. Mahmudabad denies the allegations, claiming misinterpretation and censorship. Over 1,200 people from civil society are supporting him.
