Ben Cohen, co‑founder of popular ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s, was arrested after disrupting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s testimony with a Gaza protest during a US Senate hearing. He was among seven people arrested during the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing. Mr. Cohen, a long‑time activist, was arrested on charges of obstruction. Footage shows him taking to his feet and shouting in the hearing room before being forcibly removed by a Capitol Police officer. He shouted, "RFK kills people with hate!" and later "Congress kills poor kids in Gaza by buying bombs and pays for it by kicking kids off Medicaid in the US." He was escorted down a hallway with his hands restrained behind his back. The protest occurred while Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was giving testimony on his department’s budget.
