A paediatric doctor, Alaa al-Najjar, lost nine of her ten children after an Israeli strike on Khan Younis. Her surviving child required surgery, and her husband Hamdi, who had just returned home after dropping her off at the Nasser hospital, also needed treatment. More than 70 people were killed in the air strikes on Friday, with at least six more killed on Saturday, according to the Hamas‑run civil defence agency. The BBC has approached Israel's military for comment.
