Lebanese pro-Palestine activist Georges Ibrahim Abdallah has criticised the silence of the Arab public as Palestinians in Gaza face an ongoing famine under Israel’s siege. Speaking after his return to Beirut following more than four decades in a French prison, Abdallah described children in Gaza as "moving skeletons" and said the humanitarian crisis is a stain on the conscience of the region. He argued that responsibility for ending the siege lies not only with governments but also with ordinary people, particularly in Egypt, which shares a border with Gaza. Abdallah said mass mobilisation could bring an end to the blockade, suggesting that one million Egyptians at the border would be enough to stop the genocide.
