Efforts to distribute desperately needed aid in Gaza have been marred by deadly violence, with several people killed and injured near newly opened distribution points in Rafah and central Gaza in recent days. One of the deadliest incidents occurred near the Netzarim Corridor on June 10, where up to 20 people were reportedly shot and killed by Israeli forces. The Israel Defense Forces said the confrontation happened several hundred metres from an aid site before it had officially opened, and claimed Palestinians approached troops and "posed a threat." While the military acknowledged reports of casualties, it disputed the numbers, saying they did not align with its own findings. Footage recorded by Ehab Nuor on June 9 shows crowds scrambling for cover as gunfire erupts near the same corridor — a site where fatalities were also reported that day. According to reports from Al Jazeera and WAFA, gunfire near the aid centre has continued over several days. The United Nations has warned that such sites have effectively become "death traps" and said aid delivery remains tightly controlled by Israeli and US authorities, often in areas where military operations are ongoing.
