Romania’s National Cathedral, a large religious compound positioned next to the country’s Palace of Parliament—a communist‑era building initially named the House of the People—was inaugurated 15 years after its construction began. The ceremony, also marking 100 years of the Romanian Patriarchate, was led by Patriarch Daniel of Romania and attended by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.
