NATO Threatens RUSSIA w/Pre-emptive Action /Lt Col Daniel Davis

A senior NATO official, Italian Admiral Rob Bauer, suggested that NATO might consider pre‑emptive or more aggressive actions against Russia in response to alleged hybrid attacks in Europe, such as drone incursions, cyberattacks, train derailments, and unexplained industrial fires. He argues that NATO’s claim that Russia is acting “out of nowhere” is misleading, noting that Western countries have supplied Ukraine with extensive lethal aid for years. Bauer warns that an even more aggressive NATO posture could provoke serious escalation, potentially leading to a direct Russia–NATO conflict. He criticizes European leaders, including France’s President Macron, for advocating security guarantees for Ukraine while lacking the force size to deter Russia. Bauer contends that Western narratives misrepresent Russia’s historical behavior and exaggerate claims of Russian invasions, ignoring context such as Soviet actions in WWII and the dynamics of conflicts in Georgia and Ukraine. He concludes that the West refuses to acknowledge the actual balance of power in the region, and without serious diplomacy, the conflict will continue or worsen, with Russia already responding sharply to the NATO general’s remarks, further increasing tensions.
