The story follows an army unit that arrives in a small Kerala village due to a terror threat, led by Major Pattabhiraman and commander Benny. Pattabhiraman discovers a terrorist’s plan to poison the village’s water supply with cyanide, and he neutralizes the threat by destroying the water tank with a bomb. Benny later confides to Vimala that Pattabhiraman had killed her husband, Nandu, during the war, claiming it was a mercy killing because Nandu was severely injured. Vimala forgives Pattabhiraman, and the couple ultimately reunites.
