I restored a massive 100‑year‑old Italian meat cleaver, beginning by carefully disassembling the handle from the blade and welding the worn pin holes shut. The blade was sandblasted to remove deep rust, then heated to straighten its shape. I ground a new cutting edge at a precise 30‑degree angle, enhancing its performance, and performed a heat treatment that achieved a Rockwell hardness of 60‑62 HRC for durability.
