Plodding through knee‑deep snow atop rocky scree slopes, the team trekked to the top of Kalindi Khal in Uttarakhand, setting up tents on a thin ridge of rock and boulders beside a glacier with deep crevasses. After crossing the Shweta glacier, they descended the Raj Parav glacier on the other side of the pass. The high‑altitude camp, located on a moraine below the pass, endured heavy rainfall, sleet, and cloudy weather during the late monsoon season. While roped together for safety, the group rescued a climber suffering from high‑altitude pulmonary oedema, helping him down the glacier. The pass, at 5,950 m, connects the Gangotri and Alaknanda valleys and is one of the most famous trekking routes in the Garhwal Himalaya.
