Moscow has called for the revival of the Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral, seeking the earliest resumption of activities. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed Moscow’s “genuine interest” in the troika’s revival during an international social and political conference in Perm. Lavrov said the RIC troika was initiated by ex‑Russian PM Yevgeny Primakov. He added the three countries held various meetings “more than 20 times at the ministerial level since then, not only at the level of foreign policy chiefs but also the heads of other economic, trade and financial agencies of the three countries,” Lavrov said it’s time to revive Troika as India and China have reached an understanding on the border situation.
