Ukrainian troops withdraw from Siversk • FRANCE 24 English

Ukraine confirmed on Tuesday that the eastern town of Siversk has been captured by Russian troops. Emmanuelle Chaze, FRANCE 24's correspondent in Ukraine, says Russia has been encircling Siversk for nearly four years. "It became a strategic city as early as 2022 because it opens the way for Russian troops towards bigger, more strategic cities," she said.
