150-year-old iron bridge, famous bridge no 249 of Indian Railways; even today it is functioning

The 150‑year‑old iron bridge, known as Bridge No. 249, still operates today. Built in 1866 to connect Calcutta and Delhi to the rail network, it has become a landmark in Delhi’s Lohapul area. During a flood in Delhi, the bridge remained functional, and passengers still throw coins into the river from the train.
