Attila Csihar, born in Budapest on March 29, 1971, began his musical career in 1986 with the Hungarian project Tormentor. His early vocal style was not yet the distinctive one we hear in later works, resembling many black metal vocals that blend into endless blast beats and tremolos. Eight years later, he would become the vocalist for the cult Norwegian band Mayhem, contributing to their masterpiece De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. During 1989-1991 he participated in short‑lived projects such as MANIACS (black psychobilly), ABSTRACT (black ambient), and from 1993-1998 he was involved in NAP (underground), DAEMON FOG (black ambient), HIMALAYA (black minimal techno), and NORTHPOLE (chaotic logic). These projects were largely personal experiments rather than public releases, as evidenced by their wild genre tags.
