Melanie is married to Tom, a controlling, cold and self‑centered man who happens to be the prison warden. He sees her as a liability to his career aspirations and secretly plans to have her kidnapped and killed by a dangerous inmate named Jack. While on the run together, they discover that Jack was framed as part of an elaborate scheme. They quickly fall for one another and Jack is forced to reveal the truth to Melanie about her husband, ultimately leading them to team up and destroy Tom and any chance he might have of becoming governor – as well as put him in the very prison system that he once ruled.
