A Bangladesh air force training jet crashed into a college and school campus in Dhaka on Monday, July 21, 2025, after a technical problem shortly after take‑off. The impact caused flames and smoke to engulf the campus, and emergency workers rushed to extinguish the blaze. At least 19 people were killed, including the pilot, and more than 160 were injured, many of whom were transported to a local hospital on stretchers. Families of the victims, unsure of their loved ones’ status, shouted and were restrained as others tried to comfort them. Masud Tarik, a teacher at the Milestone School and College where the crash occurred, recounted the moment he heard an explosion and saw fire and smoke, rushing his children to safety. A committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the crash.
