Description:

On 8 June 2025, the Wilderness Films India team, led by Rupin Dang, made the first recorded ascent of Sunderdunga Khal from the south face. Starting from Base Camp at 3,852 m at 4:50 a.m., the three climbers—Jitendra Singh Danu, Utkarsh Yadav, and rope fixer Digamber Singh Danu—reached the summit ridge at 5,654 m by 11:55 a.m., covering an altitude gain of 1,802 m in just seven hours. They descended the same day, returning to Base Camp with the same altitude loss, completing a full day’s climb and descent. The route, previously unclimbed, involved fixed rope sections and belays on rock faces, and the team left no trace. The expedition also documented the region with high‑resolution slow‑motion and 4K aerial footage, adding to Wilderness Films India’s extensive broadcast archive.
