Police are investigating a break-in at the boarded-up home of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, who were both fatally shot in a politically motivated attack over the weekend.
The rear window had been pried open, but nothing appears to be missing.
The home had been processed as a crime scene and then boarded up with surveillance in place.
The suspect, Vance Bolter, was arrested after a 40-hour manhunt and faces state and federal charges, NBC News has reported.
The killings, which also left a state senator and his wife wounded, have heightened concerns over rising political violence.
