A button knot soft shackle forms a neat soft attachment. I made five samples using @MarlowRopes 3mm D12 for testing; they broke on average 156% of line strength with a minimum of 59%, severely let down by some not tied correctly. The button knot had the highest maximum break load on test of 236% of line strength.
