Speaker 11

From Pueblo Tranquilo, New Mexico, with Heather Ramirez, this is Nuevo News 13.

Speaker 36

Good morning, I'm Heather Ramirez and this is Nuevo News Now.

Three people are dead after a domestic dispute turned deadly early this morning.

Authorities say Sheriff Bill Abrams was first to respond to a 911 call placed by neighbors who heard screaming.

A second call received claimed a young woman had been taken hostage before backup could arrive.

Three people lost their lives, including the hostage.

Sheriff Bill Abrams has been placed on leave pending an investigation.

A resident who knew the deceased said that law enforcement was to blame.

In other news, Tina's Taco Tent has reported an E. coli outbreak in their ground beef mixture.

Residents still experiencing diarrhea and indigestion can expect a full recovery within the next 72 hours.

Speaker 37

There ain't no such thing.

Absence of proof ain't proof of absence.

Yeah, but absence of intelligence is proof that you are a dumbass.

I'm just saying there's things they're hiding from us.

Uh, exactly, uh, like what?

Like chemtrails.

Chemtrails?

The ?

Look into it.

I don't need to look into it, man.

It's crock.

OK, I'll bet you've never heard of LAC.

Lactose intolerant?

No, no, no, no, you simple son of a bitch.

No, LAC, as in large area coverage.

The CIA dumped chemicals over major American cities without notifying the public just to see what kind of effect it had on us.

And what effect did it have on us?

We don't know, because they won't tell us.

I'm willing to bet that you grew up in one of those cities that they dumped on.

All right, the United States Air Force already released evidence of UFOs.

If UFOs are real, what else is true?

Parallel dimensions, Sasquatch, The Walking Dead.

Why not a multiverse?

Listen, man, UFOs are one thing, but zombies?

Wes Studer did a whole movie about it.

Was that a documentary?

Yeah, on YouTube.

Oh, YouTube.

Well, case closed, because that's about as much proof of zombies' existence as Godzilla is of the Loch Ness Monster.

Okay, now you're getting your mythologies all mixed up.

Yeah, that's what they said about the Conquest series.

But listen, man, it's all the same.

They're all monsters, okay?

And as anybody over the age of six knows, there's no such thing as... Whoa!

Speaker 9

Oh.

What the?

Hey, Martinez, you okay up there?

Speaker 37

What are these guys doing?

Speaker 4

Dominguez!

You got anything?

Dominguez!

Speaker 2

Dominguez!

Where you at, man?

Speaker 9

Thank you.

Speaker 16

Happy birthday!

Speaker 25

Dad!

Geez, you scared me.

Speaker 16

Maybe you should be more aware of your surroundings.

Speaker 25

It's too early to pay attention to anything right now.

Speaker 16

Oh yeah?

Speaker 25

No.

I don't know what you're asking, but no.

But today's a special day.

No.

Speaker 15

Good morning.

Speaker 25

Dad.

Speaker 15

Good morning.

It's a beautiful...

Speaker 25

It's a beautiful month Tuesday.

Speaker 16

It's a beautiful day.

How old are you?

Speaker 25

Old enough to move out.

Speaker 16

How old?

Speaker 25

18, father.

Speaker 16

All right, you are in fact an adult, so now I want you out of my house.

Speaker 25

I can't wait.

Can't you just drive me to college already?

Speaker 16

Don't let your mother hear you say things like that.

You have big plans tonight?

Speaker 25

Kendra's taking me to the movies.

Speaker 16

Kendra and Jake?

Speaker 25

Kendra and company.

Speaker 16

Is Jake the CEO of this company?

Speaker 25

Dad.

Speaker 16

All right, send him my business.

Just mind your P's and Q's.

Speaker 25

What does that even mean?

Speaker 16

Honestly, I'm not sure.

Does birthday girl want breakfast?

Speaker 25

I think I've got it covered, but I won't say no to some pancakes.

Speaker 16

All right, we can do that.

Speaker 25

Thanks mom.

Speaker 28

Happy birthday.

Speaker 16

Birthday cam.

Speaker 28

Put that thing away right now.

Speaker 16

But baby you look so beautiful.

You can't be serious.

I want to document Lucy's first day as an adult.

I need to see her face when she opens her first pack of cigarettes.

I'm kidding.

I'm kidding.

Speaker 28

Well you're not funny.

And the legal smoking age is now 21 old man.

Speaker 16

Okay, well, her legal smoking age is never, and for your information, I don't know if you two know this, but I'm very funny.

Speaker 25

You're really not, though.

Speaker 16

I really am, though.

Speaker 28

Pancakes!

I got it.

I know you're going to want to work out before your first big day back.

Go.

Don't worry about it.

Speaker 16

I think that means get out of the kitchen.

Speaker 9

Walmart.

That's 1278.

Speaker 16

I'm sorry, I didn't know you were there.

Speaker 25

No kidding.

Speaker 26

Okay, I am documenting this in case this is the last time that we are ever seen alive.

Show, please.

Where are we even heading, though?

Um, I don't know, because you're supposed to be my navigator, and instead you're being a videographer.

Videographer slash navigator slash makeup artist slash memorializer?

That's not a word.

Really, though, where are we heading?

I told you we're going to a photo shoot.

With who?

With Michael.

And you met Michael how?

On Model Matchmaker.

And what is Model Matchmaker?

It's a website that connects models with legitimate photographers.

Legitimate photographers who live out in the middle of the desert.

So what?

I need to focus on the road, and I don't need this negativity right now, and if you didn't want to come, you shouldn't have come.

I did, but when I agreed, I thought that you actually knew who this guy was, and I also assumed that we were going to be in a studio within the city limits, not two and a half hours outside of town, heading towards Buford's Torture Shed.

Oh, my God.

What?

No, look.

I don't think we should be doing this.

Doing what?

Filming.

Do you know how many views we could get if we found a dead body?

Shell!

Shell!

Wait, is that?

Oh my God.

Kim.

Oh, Kim.

Oh my God.

Oh my God.

Kim, get the back in the car right now.

Kim, just slow down.

I have to get out of here.

It's just slow down.

I'm sorry, but I have to get out of here.

You're scaring me.

You're scaring me.

Can you please pull over?

Oh my god.

You fucking psycho.

Come on, you were like, get the fuck back in the car now.

And you did, didn't you bitch?

Yeah, but seriously, someone needs to call 911.

Do it then.

Uh, you do it.

I don't want to do it.

Um, okay.

Well, my phone's at 1%, so I need a charger ASAP.

Here, charge it.

Speaker 1

Charge it.

Speaker 1

Android.

Speaker 1

Really, Kim?

Speaker 27

What are you doing?

Babe, what's wrong?

Speaker 16

I'm just nervous about the first day back, that's all.

Speaker 27

You know, if you don't want to... No, I do.

Speaker 22

I do.

Is it too soon?

Speaker 27

You tell me.

You're doing the right thing.

Speaker 22

I know.

Speaker 27

You did the right thing.

Do you?

I do.

Proud of you.

Speaker 29

Bill, wait.

Lucy, can you come here for a minute, please?

Why?

Just come here.

Where's the gift?

Speaker 16

It's in the car, but it's not wrapped yet.

Speaker 29

Honey.

Speaker 16

What, now?

I thought we were doing this tonight.

Speaker 29

You're gonna be late.

Speaker 16

How do you know?

Speaker 29

Because you're always late.

Speaker 16

Okay, I'm gonna get it.

Speaker 29

I'm going to be late.

I'll see you tonight.

Honey, don't forget, dinner's at 7.

Speaker 25

Movie starts at 8.

Speaker 16

Honey, you probably don't remember, but you drew this when you were 8 years old, so... Should've gotten her cigarettes.

Speaker 29

Yeah.

Well, you did get her a car already this year.

Honey, don't forget on your lunch break, get a bag for that and a card.

Speaker 16

Okay.

See you tonight.

Yep.

Love you.

Speaker 29

Love you too.

Speaker 1

Bye.

Speaker 3

Race to 141 Delta, are you on the air?

Speaker 1

141 on air.

Speaker 16

Uh, do you have anything special for birthday parties, things like that?

Yeah, okay.

So, here's what I want you to do.

Speaker 26

Morning, Bill.

Speaker 16

Erica, can I get some more... You know, this is why I keep telling Armando you deserve a raise.

Speaker 30

Or customers could start leaving better tips.

Speaker 16

Walked into that one.

Speaker 30

Do you want another to go?

Speaker 16

Yeah, thanks.

Speaker 10

See you tomorrow.

Speaker 30

Oh, if you need a refill, I'm working a double, so feel free to swing by.

Speaker 16

I just might.

Speaker 17

I'm here to help.

She is sick.

You can't help her.

Speaker 1

What do you want?

Speaker 1

All units be on the lookout.

Speaker 1

Green late 90s Honda four-door sedan last seen northbound on 528 near state transport.

Speaker 1

Suspect as well as two troopers and two correction officers are still unaccounted for at this time.

Speaker 1

Partial tech

Speaker 19

141 to 65, tango.

Speaker 6

And stay by your side Chasing your demons

Speaker 13

Morning.

Morning, Sheriff.

Speaker 5

How was your time off?

Speaker 16

Good.

Spent quality time with the family and all that, you know.

Speaker 5

Your wife couldn't wait to get you out the house again, huh?

Speaker 16

Pretty much.

Speaker 5

Figured.

Speaker 16

By the way, I meant to tell you.

I got a lead on a case, destruction of public property.

Speaker 4

Where?

Speaker 16

Here.

Speaker 4

Here?

Speaker 16

Yeah, right there at that desk where you're stuffing your face with sugar.

Speaker 5

First of all, this is private property.

Speaker 17

You are a public servant.

Speaker 5

Second, this pastry's made of jelly.

And jelly's made of fruit.

And fruit's good for me, so...

Speaker 16

I suppose you're going to tell me candy corn is a vegetable.

Speaker 5

Are you mad that your old man balance can't handle delicious food anymore?

Speaker 16

You're being insubordinate.

Speaker 5

Is the grumpiness a sign of old age, or is it the incontinence?

Speaker 16

Okay, all right, all right.

Speaker 34

You like that, don't you?

Oh, yes.

You dirty little weasel.

Oh, yes.

Yes, what?

Speaker 33

Yes, Ms. Esmeralda.

Yes.

Speaker 16

What did I tell you two about this?

It's not what it looks like.

Yeah, what does it look like?

It's a disagreement.

Speaker 34

He still owes me money.

Speaker 16

Money for what exactly?

Is she helping you with your reelection campaign, Mr. Mayor?

Speaker 34

Yeah, I'm his relaxation therapist.

Speaker 16

He doesn't look very relaxed.

I am, I promise.

Bill, please.

Okay, good.

Either one of you been drinking today?

Speaker 34

No.

I don't drink on Mondays.

Speaker 16

Today's Tuesday, but all right.

That mean I can give you a breathalyzer test?

Speaker 34

Am I being detained?

Speaker 16

We're just having a conversation.

I have not been drinking.

Yeah?

What about this?

Your eyes are really blue.

Thank you very much.

Your eyes are dilated enough for me to drive a truck through.

Speaker 34

It's medicinal.

Speaker 16

Oh, is that medicinal cocaine?

Speaker 34

Yeah.

Speaker 16

I'm an officer of the court.

No.

Do you need me to give you a ride someplace, Mr. Mayor?

Maybe I can call dispatch, have your wife pick you up?

No, Sheriff.

Speaker 34

Am I being detained?

Speaker 16

No, but just don't do...

Whatever it is you were doing in public again, or I'll have to arrest you.

Both of you.

Won't happen again.

Speaker 34

Don't worry, Sheriff.

This cockroach won't be pressing any charges, will you, Paul?

Speaker 17

Nope.

Speaker 16

Oh, no, Mrs. Miranda, no.

Good.

Knock it off.

Jeez.

Speaker 1

1313 Syringo Road.

Speaker 1

Complainant states Mr. Chavez is burning brush in the backyard and the smoke is drifting into their yard next door.

Speaker 16

The fire's not even that big, and everybody burns around here.

I understand that, Mr. Chavez.

We can't be burning brush today, okay?

There's a fire restriction in place.

It's too dry.

Also, this is way too close to the house.

It exceeds the approved size.

Speaker 18

It's never been a problem before.

Before what?

I always burn.

I didn't know it was against the law.

You're not supposed to tell me that.

I burn trash.

I burn wood.

I burn brush.

Por años, every year I burn.

Speaker 16

All right, listen.

I need you to do something for me, okay?

I want you to look right down there.

In that vehicle, there's a camera and a microphone.

that's recording everything that we say.

Do you understand?

Si.

Okay.

So that's why it's very important you don't tell me you've been illegally burning brush every year.

Si, pero I didn't know it was illegal till now.

That doesn't matter if you knew it was illegal.

It's still illegal.

And if they keep calling me, I'm going to have to fine you.

They keep calling me and every... Hi.

Speaker 18

Carlos, ¿qué hace la policía aquí?

¿Quién sabe?

Dice que no estoy permitido quemar la basura.

But you always burn trash.

Shh.

Hay una cámara allá dentro del carro.

Speaker 31

My daughter Monique is very beautiful, intelligent, and very loving.

She needs a husband who will take care of her and give her many healthy children.

Speaker 25

Mom, what are you doing?

Your job must be very dangerous.

Speaker 18

Yeah, sometimes.

Speaker 16

I'm sorry, I don't know if I got all that.

Speaker 18

I know you were talking about... She says that my daughter Monique is very smart, beautiful, and loving, and that she is in need of a husband who can give her strong, healthy grandbabies.

Speaker 16

Good.

Yeah, I'm married.

Sorry, but that's...

Thank you.

Is it that?

Yeah, it's a fair doubt.

Speaker 31

Okay, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 16

We're good on this, no mas?

Si, no mas.

Okay, good, good.

And you, nice too, and good luck with finding, good luck, good luck.

Speaker 31

You don't need to marry someone who hides cameras everywhere.

Speaker 3

10-4-1.

Delta 1-4-1.

Reported abandoned vehicle parked at the Kokopelli Dam overlook.

Several complaints.

It's been parked there for over a week.

Respond and verify.

New Mexico plate number 557.

K is in Kilo.

T is in Tango 4.

Speaker 19

10-4, that'll be Jim.

Speaker 1

I'm on my way.

Speaker 16

How am I supposed to pull a trailer without a truck to pull a trailer?

That's not my problem, Jim.

I've given you three passes on this already.

You know there's a 24-hour stay limit.

You can't live at the rest stop.

That's why they call it a rest stop.

You stop, you rest, and then you go.

Everybody knows this.

Woodman, but I'm tired.

Speaker 33

From what?

Honestly?

Stress, man.

My lady's supposed to be bringing me a trailer hitch.

She was gonna bring me a case of liquor, of licorice.

Like, I'm trying here, man.

I don't, something might have happened to her.

That's what I really think.

You know, we were at the Piggly Wiggly the other day, and the sacker, the grocery sacker, he smiled at her, right?

He smiled at her, she smiled back.

She wouldn't stop smiling for like a week, man.

Like, what is he gonna do, buy her beer with 3.35 an hour?

He can't afford her lifestyle, man.

I'm a real man.

Speaker 19

Delta 141 to command.

Show me out 10-6 for my break.

Speaker 8

10-4, 10-6.

Speaker 16

Delta 141.

Go ahead, 141.

Yeah, out here at mile 264 on Highway 14, possible match on that APB.

That's Delta 141 out here on mile 264.

That's a possible match, APB.

Afternoon, sir.

You know why I pulled you over?

I've been following you for a little while.

Did you see the lights?

Could you hear the siren?

Sir, can you hear me okay?

You were driving erratically back there, and you're missing a rear license plate.

Did you know that?

No, you didn't know that?

Is this your vehicle?

Sir, is this your vehicle?

Speaker 23

I was looking for you.

Speaker 16

How's that?

Speaker 23

I was looking for you.

Speaker 16

You were looking for me.

What does that mean?

Did you call the police, sheriff's department?

Speaker 23

I used to be like you.

I used to be just like you.

Speaker 16

Sir, I'm going to need to see your license, registration, and proof of insurance.

Yeah, well, I don't have any of that.

You don't have any of that.

Why not?

Speaker 23

Because I'm nobody.

Speaker 16

You're nobody, OK?

Well, I'm somebody who's going to impound this car unless you can show me some paperwork proving you own it right now.

Speaker 23

Yeah, you are somebody.

I want to be like you.

Speaker 16

Step out of the car, sir.

Speaker 23

I think I will be you.

Speaker 16

Not going to tell you again.

Step out of the car.

Speaker 9

No!

No, stop!

No!

No!

Speaker 15

One for one.

Speaker 1

Go ahead, one for one.

Speaker 21

They're all gonna die.

I'm gonna burn this town down.

Speaker 5

Hello?

Hi Jess, have you heard from Bill?

Speaker 29

Not since he left this morning.

Why?

Speaker 5

Could you just have him call me when he checks in?

Sure, is everything okay?

I haven't heard from him.

He's probably just out of range though.

Could you just have him call me when he checks in?

Okay.

Speaker 1

... ...

Speaker 36

I'm here with Deputy Rogers from the Sheriff's Department.

She's currently heading up the investigation into the Rub You Down robbery, the city's local adult toy store.

Deputy, are there any leads in the case?

Speaker 5

No.

No, not currently, no.

Speaker 36

Is there a plan of action now in apprehending the thieves and recovering the company mascot?

Speaker 5

Well, they say the inflatable penis is approximately 17 feet in height and 5 feet in width.

So we're hoping something of that size will be easily spotted and turned in by a concerned citizen.

I see.

But what if they deflate the penis?

Thank you, Deputy Rogers.

Speaker 1

141 Delta, were you able to make contact?

Speaker 1

Face to 141 Delta

Speaker 5

Alice, can you tell me what you saw?

And do you know what he was wearing?

Speaker 1

Shh.

Speaker 17

You can't help her.

We have EMTs waiting right outside.

I can't help her.

She is sick in her soul.

Okay, okay.

What do you want?

Just tell me who you want to get here and we'll get them here.

Speaker 11

Oh man, finally some action around here.

I hope they kill some important people.

Man, this is gonna get me an Emmy.

I can move out of my mom's house.

Get myself a girlfriend.

Speaker 10

up, have a mess load of kids, teach those little bastards not to get in the media, so they don't have to work with bitches like Heather.

Speaker 36

Gary, put it down.

You're gonna get fat, and then you're gonna be slow.

Where are we at?

Hang on that last shot for just a second.

See how the stretcher comes in at the last moment with the bloody pant leg?

Speaker 12

Mm-hmm.

Oh, you don't want a shot of the blood on the ground?

Speaker 36

No, I want that, too, but after the interview with the little girl crying.

Give them a hint of red, cut to the girl's sympathy, then back to the carnage.

Speaker 12

Okay.

Oh, by the way, the department sent me two photos of the sheriff.

Speaker 36

Check it out.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-mm.

Mm-mm.

Definitely not the one on the left.

Is that all they sent you?

Speaker 12

Unfortunately.

Speaker 36

Okay.

Speaker 12

Maybe a smidge of desaturation.

Speaker 36

Muddle the expression a little bit.

And under the photo, add that graphic for the police tape that we used from last month's home invasion segment.

Speaker 12

I got it right here.

Nice.

Speaker 35

It needs something, though.

Speaker 12

More blood?

Speaker 35

No, maybe handcuffs or a badge or bullet holes.

Then the tagline.

What about shocking rest stop slaughter?

Speaker 12

No, that's too many words for the banner.

Speaker 36

Shit.

No, I like the alliteration.

This is Heather.

Hey, what do you got?

And you have the audio?

Speaker 35

Send it to me right now!

Let's keep going.

Speaker 9

Oh, my God.

Speaker 1

We are planting a building church.

Speaker 1

It's a state of 56 million people.

Speaker 1

Virtually unreached with the gospel of God.

Speaker 1

If you were going to the second life one day.

Speaker 9

Thank you.

Speaker 1

And we've been able to see a Bible school that comes here.

Speaker 7

Yeah, I know, dude!

Yeah, boy!

Yeah!

Hey!

Speaker 25

I'm going to the movies now.

Speaker 13

Hey, you have a first aid kit?

We have an injured man over here.

Speaker 5

We got APB Allenville's charger.

We need to find him so he can help us identify the guy who did this.

Now we got an hour, maybe two before state PD shows up and takes over.

Speaker 14

Who in God's green earth is running the response to the fugitive?

I am, sir.

Deputy Rogers.

Lieutenant Steele, state police.

I'm heading the task force to apprehend the shooter.

Have you used GPS to locate the vehicle?

No, sir.

Lieutenant, have you shut down access to the department-issued computer in the vehicle?

Speaker 5

No, sir.

Lieutenant.

Speaker 14

We sent a recent photo of the sheriff to local law enforcement agencies.

No.

I want the command center here.

Let's get a track out on that car and get it shut off remotely.

Notify SWAT once we have his 20, we'll move in force.

And I want two cars on his house in case he tries to contact his family.

Speaker 5

Yes.

Sir.

Speaker 14

Lieutenant.

Speaker 5

Lieutenant, we don't actually know if it's the sheriff that's committing these crimes.

Speaker 36

Heather Ramirez reporting live for Channel 13 Eyewitness News.

A quiet day for summer travelers was shattered by bullets by a deranged tournament earlier today.

Seven people were killed and ten others were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.

Four are still listed in critical condition.

In an unusual twist, authorities say the main suspect is Sheriff Bill Abrams, who recently returned to work after another deadly shooting.

He was placed on administrative leave until today.

The suspect was seen wearing a sheriff's uniform and driving Abrams' car.

His badge was found at the scene, and we just received the following audio that came in from his radio just before the killings.

They're all gonna die.

What the hell?

Speaker 16

No, no, no, no, no.

This is a big misunderstanding, okay?

That is not me.

Okay, well, technically that is me, but if I could just make a phone call.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, okay.

Please, everybody calm down.

I will happily surrender.

Just someone call the sheriff's department, ask for Deputy Rogers.

Speaker 13

You like killing innocent people, you sick son of a bitch?

I didn't do this.

Please, someone get the sheriff's department here now.

It's kind of different when you're the one looking down the end of the barrel, isn't it?

Well, maybe we'll save them the trouble of arresting you.

You don't want to do that.

The hell I don't.

Speaker 16

Give me the phone, please.

Speaker 1

You sneaky son of a bitch.

Speaker 14

You disabled the remote unit in the vehicle.

Can't track your GPS, can't shut you down.

That's what I would have done.

See, that's the problem with tracking a cop.

I was going to be two steps ahead of you.

Sheriff's Department.

It's me.

Here we go.

We've got a sighting.

Matching plate headed west on Old Santa Fe Trail towards the edge of town.

Get all available units on the way.

Rogers.

Rogers.

Rogers.

Rogers, it's Bill.

Can you hear me?

Speaker 5

Please hold.

Speaker 14

Stay here.

Hold down the command center.

We're going after him.

Speaker 5

Copy that.

Yes, sir.

Speaker 14

Lieutenant.

Speaker 5

Bill, are you there?

Speaker 34

Do you remember how to say bitch?

I can't hear you.

Speaker 7

Tell me.

Cabrón!

Speaker 32

Oh, yes.

Oh, si, si, si.

Mi amor.

Oh, mi amor.

Por favor.

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 17

Oh, baby.

Yes.

Oh, yes.

Oh, yes.

Oh, yes.

Give it to me.

Come on.

Speaker 34

Keep going, Big Daddy.

Don't hurt me.

I like watching you.

Don't stop.

Control him.

Wait, Big Daddy.

Speaker 30

Take me with you.

Speaker 36

Hi, May.

Speak to Mrs. Abrams, please.

This is she.

Hi, Mrs. Abrams.

This is Heather Ramirez from Channel 13.

I was calling to see if you would like to release a statement regarding the incident involving your husband.

A statement?

Yes.

It's a very troubling time.

I just wanted to give you an opportunity to send a message directly to your community.

An opportunity?

That's right.

Speaker 29

Heather, was it?

Speaker 28

Yes.

Go f*** yourself.

Speaker 36

Yuri, we gotta go now!

Speaker 7

Get your shit and let's go!

Speaker 5

That's far enough, Bill.

Speaker 16

Okay, I know how it looks.

You gotta believe me, I didn't do this.

Let me explain.

Speaker 5

We're after you.

Put that gun down.

Speaker 16

Fine.

Just listen to me.

You know me.

You know I wouldn't hurt these people.

Speaker 13

What are you waiting for?

Just shoot him!

Speaker 16

This is all just a big misunderstanding.

Speaker 5

Put these on.

Explain to me on the way to the station.

Speaker 19

It's me.

Speaker 4

Thank God.

Speaker 5

Where are you?

Speaker 4

Jess, I'm taking him in.

It's the safest way.

Speaker 5

Then we can figure all this out after.

Speaker 4

Okay, I'll meet you there.

Speaker 16

I love you.

Speaker 4

I love you too.

Speaker 14

That's some very kinky shit, Paul.

I guess our next mayor's gonna run unopposed, huh?

And you.

That wasn't a very happy ending, was it?

Big Daddy?

Jesus Christ!

Jesus fucking Christ.

Speaker 5

When do you figure out where he's going?

Speaker 16

I pulled him over off Highway 14 right about here.

Speaker 5

That means the first shooting occurred at the rest stop, just a few miles down the road from here.

Next, he hit the Chavez's house.

Speaker 16

The whole family?

Speaker 5

He was just seen at the house of Esmeralda, so he's retracing her steps.

Speaker 16

But I never made it back to Esmeralda, so he's not following my GPS.

Speaker 5

Well, maybe he decided to go random after that.

Speaker 16

No, that's gotta be the reason.

Who are the victims?

Do we know?

Speaker 5

The mayor and his escort.

Speaker 16

Paul and Esmeralda.

Speaker 5

Who?

Speaker 16

I stopped them this morning before I went to the Chavez's house.

He's not retracing the places.

He's retracing the people.

He must be going by my call log.

But that was my first stop of the day.

Speaker 17

Then that means he's at the end of the list.

What did he say to me?

He said something strange.

Something like, I want to be somebody or... No.

He said...

Speaker 16

I want to be you.

So he is retracing her steps.

He's killing everybody I interacted with today, which means he's going to the coffee shop, and then he's going to Vermont.

Speaker 5

It's OK. She's on her way.

She wouldn't leave Lucy at home, so they'll be safe.

Speaker 16

Call her right now.

Speaker 14

Make sure she's on her way.

Speaker 5

Sheriff's Department.

Speaker 14

Deputy Rogers, it's Lieutenant Steele.

Yes.

Yes, sir.

It's Lieutenant.

So the suspect left us with a dead mare and turned his hooker into some kind of piñata action.

Fled the scene before we got here.

Any updates on your end?

Um, just one.

Well, what is it?

Speaker 5

It's Sheriff Abrams, sir.

He's here.

Speaker 33

He's what?

How in the hell is he there?

Speaker 5

I apprehend him.

He's willing to cooperate, though.

Speaker 14

God damn it, Rogers.

He better be stuffed and cuffed and in a...

by the time I get there, or I am going to charge you as an accessory to goddamn murder.

Yes, sir.

It's Lieutenant.

Call me Lieutenant, you deputized dipshit.

Speaker 5

Yes, Lieutenant.

Speaker 16

This is absolutely necessary.

Speaker 5

I'm sorry.

I just have to hold you here so Steele knows you're not the one doing all this.

Speaker 16

This is ridiculous.

Speaker 5

Everything's gonna be okay.

Speaker 9

Why are you doing this?

Speaker 22

Why are you doing this?

I'm not doing this.

You're doing this.

Speaker 7

No!

No!

Speaker 9

Come back here!

Stop!

Jessica!

Speaker 1

Fuck!

Speaker 16

Jesus.

I'll call an ambulance.

Speaker 6

Bill.

Neil, help us, Neil.

Speaker 22

Let's go get some coffee.

Speaker 30

Sorry, we're closed.

Can I help you?

Speaker 23

Have you met my wife?

Speaker 20

We'll take two coffees.

Speaker 30

I need to use the restroom.

It's over here.

I can show you.

Speaker 1

More coffee?

Speaker 9

No!

Speaker 1

No!

Speaker 8

Phil!

Phil!

Speaker 1

Phil!

Speaker 17

I'm here to help.

She's sick.

You can't help her.

We have EMTs waiting right out there.

Speaker 1

I can't help her.

Speaker 17

She's sick with her soul.

Okay, okay.

Speaker 1

What do you want?

Speaker 1

Just tell me if you want to get here.

Speaker 1

We'll get them here.

Speaker 1

Okay.

Speaker 9

It's gonna be okay.

Speaker 14

This is Lieutenant Steele, State Police.

We have the building surrounded.

Quiet!

I'm only going to say this once.

Speaker 9

Come out with your hands up, surrender peacefully, and you won't be hurt.

Speaker 14

We can do this two ways.

The easy way, or the steel way.

Up to you.

Speaker 7

Sheriff, this is your last chance.

What the goddamn... Was that him?

Speaker 14

How in the hell did he get around us?

Oh, great.

Now we got a fire.

All right, let's go!

Let's go!

Move out!

this cowboy.

Who was that?

Does anybody know what the f*** is going on here?

Anybody?

Speaker 36

Lieutenant, any update on the situation?

Speaker 14

Get that f***ing camera out of my face.

Speaker 36

You got that right.

You got that?

Okay, Gary, how do I look?

Good?

You really want my face?

No, shut up, Gary.

I'm ready.

Breaking news tonight in the continuing saga of a town under siege as the police attempt to apprehend one of their own in what one might call the sheriff's summer slaughter.

Speaker 2

Well, you need to really be scared here.

Johnny.

You're still afraid.

Speaker 3

Stop it now.

I mean it.

Speaker 2

They're coming to get you, Barbara.

Speaker 6

Stop it.

You're ignorant.

Speaker 2

They're coming for you, Barbara.

Speaker 6

You're acting like a child.

Speaker 2

They're coming for you.

Look, there comes one of them now.

Speaker 35

He'll hear you.

Speaker 2

Here he comes now.

I'm getting out of here.

Speaker 35

Johnny.

Speaker 20

You only know what you look like because you see your reflection.

You don't see yourself the way others see you.

Speaker 21

So tomorrow you woke up and you looked in the mirror and you saw my reflection.

Speaker 20

You're no different than me.

I protected people.

I used to be just like you.

I had everything.

Speaker 19

House, family, everything.

Speaker 21

But now, I have to protect my family.

Speaker 19

Daddy.

Speaker 1

Daddy.

Speaker 19

It's okay, baby.

Don't talk to my daughter that way.

Speaker 21

Today's her birthday.

In fact, let's sing a song.

Nobody likes me.

Everybody hates me.

Nobody likes me.

Everyone hates me.

Speaker 19

It's not our song.

It's not our song.

We have a song.

If you want to be part of our family, you just have to learn the song.

Lucy.

Lucy, baby, what's our song?

It's okay.

Hey, look at me.

Hey, look at me.

It's okay.

Speaker 9

Good morning.

Good morning.

It's a beautiful day.

Speaker 19

It's a beautiful Tuesday.

It's a beautiful day.

Speaker 1

Let's go.

Speaker 36

A grim story comes to an end in the wee hours of the morning here as 16 residents in Pueblo Tranquilo as well as several other New Mexicans lost their lives at the hands of a murderer.

Originally authorities believed the killer to be Sheriff Bill Abrams but it later became clear that another man attacked the sheriff and using his uniform and patrol car used the appearance of being a law enforcement officer to ambush and kill innocent citizens.

The suspect was being transported from a correctional facility in southern New Mexico when he managed a daring and deadly escape.

The man in custody reportedly claimed to be a former law enforcement officer, but so far no reports have been found to substantiate that claim.

People are now asking how a tragedy like this could happen and whether the Sheriff's Department is equipped to deal with a case in which someone assumes the identity of a law enforcement officer for the purpose of harm rather than protection.

Speaker 16

How you feeling, Sheriff?

Want an ambulance?

You have any idea how much those things cost?

Speaker 27

Honey, if you want to go, I'll go with you.

Speaker 16

No way.

No, thank you.

Speaker 27

I mean, I've never been in an ambulance before.

Speaker 16

Good.

Then you and your mother can ride in an ambulance and I'll meet you there.

Speaker 27

You're not funny.

Speaker 16

I'm pretty funny.

Speaker 27

You're really not, though.

Speaker 16

I really am, though.

Speaker 14

Sheriff, there's still a lot of questions that need answering.

Now, I don't want to rush you, but... Then don't.

Speaker 30

Don't ruin my birthday.

Speaker 14

Alright, I'll come back.

Speaker 24

Is this all his blood?

He murdered half the county, so I doubt it.

We need to stop this bleeding.

After what he did, I think we should just let the son of a bitch bleed to death.

Syringe.

Speaker 10

One sec.

Speaker 24

Hey, that's the stabbing victim's favorite dance.

I give up.

The polka.

Damn.

Where is it?

I just had the damn thing.

Speaker 36

And here we have one of the heroes from today's deadly ordeal.

Lieutenant Steele, the mayor's office has no comment at this time, but many people are asking how they can trust authorities to assure this never happens again, and when, if ever, people will know that they are safe.

Speaker 14

Well, thank you, Heather.

And first, I want to assure our citizens that we are doing everything we can to guarantee the safety and security of our community.

But let's be honest.

We can't do everything.

No one's going to be safe 100% of the time.

Whether you're at home, work, walking down the street.

Speaker 36

Thank you, Lieutenant Steele.

Situational awareness is...

Speaker 7

We need a medic!

Speaker 11

We need a medic!

Cut the feed!

Cut the feed!

Let's go to the next segment.

Cue the music.

Speaker 7

God damn it!

We need a medic!

No, another medic!

Speaker 11

That guy just hit her!

Speaker 9

We need another one!

Speaker 8

Thank you.
