Footage released by LifeFlight Australia shows rescue crewmen being lowered from a helicopter to reach the pair, who were located about 150 metres from the mountain’s peak. LifeFlight said it received the distress call at around 3:45 pm. Both women were uninjured but unable to descend safely. The hikers were flown to a nearby state school, where they were assessed and released.
