Description:

Footage shows the production and testing of the Russian airborne electronic warfare complex L‑370 “Vitebsk,” designed to protect aircraft and helicopters from missiles. Developed by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Research Institute Ekran and produced by KRET, the system comes in two versions: the L‑370 for helicopters and the Vitebsk‑25 for aircraft. In tests on a Mi‑8 helicopter, the complex successfully rejected 20 Igla MANPADS missiles, and its components are mounted on Su‑25SM3, Ka‑52, Mi‑26, Mi‑8, and Mi‑35M platforms. The L‑370‑3S active jamming station can assess radar intensity and suppress signals across a wide frequency range, while a missile protection subsystem with a thermal homing head deploys passive jamming, thermal decoys, chaff, and active infrared and radio band protection. The system operates automatically, providing only threat information to the pilot, and is planned for future deployment on Il‑76, Il‑78, An‑72, An‑124, and Il‑112V aircraft.
