A former Ukrainian anti-organized crime official, Ihor Hrushevskyi, was found dead in a swimming pool in Villajoyosa, Spain, on June 29. Authorities have not ruled out foul play, though no signs of violence were found. His death occurred at the same apartment complex where Russian defector pilot Maksim Kuzminov was assassinated in February 2024. Hrushevskyi, who had lived there for 16 months, had a background in Ukraine’s Interior Ministry during the 1990s, CBS News has reported. The incident adds to suspicions around the resort town, which hosts many Russian and Ukrainian expats.
