Description:

The Rufous Sibia, also known as the Black‑capped Sibia or the Three Cheers bird, has smart blue wings, a rufous‑brown body, and a black cap atop its head. Hanging upside down as it plunders a wild Himalayan pear tree and bites off big chunks of ripe small wild pear fruit, this bird is the "Three Cheers" caller, seen here at Jabbarkhet in the western Himalaya. The bird visits a fruiting Himalayan pear tree, providing a colourful burst of an autumn colour palette. Wild Himalayan pear trees blossom and proliferate at the Jabbarkhet wildlife sanctuary, feeding butterflies, bees, and birds with their nectar and fruit. The production plans to create an entire forest of wild pear trees someday.
