Description:

We visited the Botanical Park of Crete, a new attraction that offers a peaceful, educational experience for adults and children alike. The park, which covers about 20 hectares, was created by four brothers on the site of a fire‑damaged family garden. It showcases Cretan and Greek flora as well as plants from around the world. Visitors begin their walk by a small pond and a mini‑zoo with geese, roe deer, pigs, and ostriches, then follow a path that climbs back up, passing a wide variety of plants, herbs, flowers, deciduous and fruit trees that bloom year‑round. The walk takes about two hours, and along the way signs help guests navigate. At the entrance there is a small restaurant serving locally grown, environmentally friendly cuisine. The park is a wonderful place to enjoy nature, breathe fresh air, and relax in the shade of trees.
