This set of exercises is designed to work out the cervical-collar zone and shoulder girdle, helping to relax tension and increase blood flow to the head and neck. When working with the neck, it is especially important to pay attention to sensations in the body, reducing amplitude or skipping movements if discomfort or pain occurs. After the practice, observe how the cervical spine responds and repeat daily or when the zone feels tight. During yoga, focus on sensations and breathing, avoiding breath-holding and adjusting movement rhythm to breathing. Adjust each asana to enjoy the lesson, accepting sensations as they are and treating the body with respect. Yoga is for the person, not the other way around, and asana is for the body, not the body for asana. After class, relax in shavasana.
