KTWU, Channel 11 Public Television in Topeka, Kansas, and K30AL, Channel 30, Iola, Kansas, now conclude their broadcast day.

KTWU is a noncommercial public television station authorized by the Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC.

Channels 11 and 30 are owned and operated by Washburn University of Topeka.

Channel 11 operates at an assigned frequency of 198 to 204 megahertz with an effective radiated power of 316,000 watts visual and 31,600 watts aural.

Channel 11 KTWU transmits from a 950 foot tower located at 301 North Wanamaker Road.

The studio facility is at 19th and Jewel on the Washburn University campus in Topeka.

K30AL Channel 30 operates at an assigned frequency of 566 to 572 megahertz at an effective radiated power of 1,000 watts from a 500-foot tower located two miles east of Moraine.

KTWU, one of more than 300 public television stations, is a member of PBS, the public broadcasting service.

KTWU is funded by Washburn University, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the State of Kansas, and various other public and private sources, including viewer contributions.
