Larch (Larix) is a genus of woody plants in the Pine family (Pinaceae) and one of the most common conifers. About 20 species exist, with the most popular being the Siberian, American, and European larches. These species are named after the regions where they are found. Larches grow in almost any area and can form extensive forests. In Russia, four species are known, including the European, Siberian, Amur, and Polish or Western larch.
