live worldwide on DAZN.
Let's now welcome to the ring our co-main event participants.
First, the challenger, Devin the Dream Haney!
Let's go, Haney!
the Dream Haney, who completely outboxed Ramirez.
Jose Ramirez in his first fight in 13 months, and he only took 30 punches.
Something about Devin Haney, I mean, he fights great at long range, but still one of the best.
Chad, experienced, determined, comes with a game plan, one of the highest IQs in boxing, but he is flawed.
He's been flawed, he's been chin-checked.
Does he have that traumatic experience of PTSD from that Ryan Garcia fight, or can he muster up another performance like he did against Regis Prograve?
What Devin Haney are we gonna get tonight?
We're going to find out, but either way, Devin Haney always taking on the toughest challenges.
Like Todd said, no warm-up fight for him at 147, and you'll have to see it.
And now let's welcome the defending champion, known as the Assassin 2, Bryan Norman Jr.
Brian Norman Jr. knows the task at hand and he knows that Haney is going to be trying to afford
They changed shoes because they ran out of grip.
But I know how to cut out the ring.
I know how to force him to engage.
And when that happens, I'm gonna catch him and I'm gonna knock him out.
This man does have bricks for fists.
The assassin, Brian Norman Jr. One of the scariest knockouts
With that left hook, this man can knock you out with either hand.
Determined, they're coming in as the champion.
This is boxer versus puncher, the classic style matchup we love to see.
Can't wait.
You gotta love the right Brian Norman, a Georgia guy coming out to Atlanta's Young Jeezy.
Georgia, rise up.

Fighting out of Miami, Florida, USA, by way of Oakland, California.
He is undefeated with 32 wins, 15 of his 32 wins come by way of knockout.
He is the former undisputed lightweight world champion and the former WBC super lightweight champion of the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome
Tevin The Dream Haney!
And his opponent across the ring in this championship contest, he is the defending champion.
Fighting out of the red corner, he comes to the ring wearing brown and beige, and weighed in officially at 146.12 pounds.
hailing from Decatur, Georgia, USA.
He brings an undefeated record with 28 wins, 22 of his 28 wins come by way of knockout.
Ranked number one by Ring Magazine, ladies and gentlemen, here is the reigning and defending WBO welterweight champion of the world,
known as the Assassin 2, Bryan Norman Jr.!
Gentlemen, you received instructions in the dressing room.
I expect a good, clean fight.
Protect yourselves at all times.
Obey my commands at all times.
Touch them up.
Boy, they both got the eye of the tiger, don't they?
And Devin Haney looks fantastic at 147 pounds.
This is the best and most muscular I've ever seen Devin Haney.
Maybe the weight was draining him at 135 and 140.
We're going to find out right now because he's dealing with the real welterweight puncher and champion.
and Brian Norman Jr. Yeah, Devin Haney won his first title at 135, won another title at 140, but he was killing himself even at that weight.
I remember interviewing him after the press conference for the Ryan Garcia fight.
He was wobbling.
He was so weight training.
All right, look, man.
I'm going to say it right now.
Yes, Devin Haney looks great.
Yes, he has experience.
Yes, he is a champion.
But we're going to find out if he can take a punch at welterweight.
Yep.
He looks rather skittish in his last fight against Jose Ramirez.
Did not want to engage much.
Stayed at distance.
Picked to spots.
What appeared to be a very easy decision win over Jose Ramirez.
He's got to work a lot harder to beat Brian Norman.
Yeah, man.
You can't take a punch.
You cannot be on the championship level for long.
Don't forget, Brian Norman's been dropped too.
He was dropped last year by Boca Chica in round one.
Yeah, but you know, whenever you're as aggressive as Norman coming in, he got caught coming in.
His own momentum actually helped Boca Chica.
And he started out his career knocking out 13 of his first 19 opponents.
Since then, his last 10 fights have all gone the distance.
So far, so good for Haney.
He needs to offset the aggression of Brian Norman Jr. That should be the game plan.
Jab, jab to the chest, to the gut.
Move around in circles.
Stay off the ropes.
These are all the things that Haney needs to do to control a puncher like Norman Jr.
There's a left hook, Mike.
That could be the money punch.
Absolutely, it was the money punch for Ryan Garcia, and Ryan Norman has a damn good left hook.
You know, the author was probably the front runner for knockout of the year June against Jim Sasaki in Tokyo.
Yeah, Norman will tell you, it wasn't just a knockout of the year, it's a knockout of the decade.
And he needs to be first.
He wants to dictate and control this fight.
He needs to be first.
He needs to dictate.
He can't let Norman come in first.
He can't be a counterpunch in this entire fight.
Norman got a little offended when people said, hey, if Devin's a better boxer, he's got better feet.
He said, no, man, I actually have better feet.
It's better, Chad.
I promise you, I'm better.
Norman Jr. didn't get credit for the timing and the punch selection, the combinations.
And the way he comes off the ring, look at how he's going to come off the ring.
That's going to be a key to that as well.
Because Haney's going to have the faster feet.
But Norman definitely has the heavier hands.
Look at the back of Norman's trunks.
The WBO patch is upside down.
Hopefully that's not a Pat Hogan.
He wants to turn this career of Devin Haney upside down.
Here at 147 pounds.
Haney holding out.
This is why you don't want to see from Haney, you know, he got hit with a glassy shot, and he's over-grabbing, he's making it seem like he doesn't want to get touched at all.
You're about to get hit in the foot.
I like the way he's responding to Ramirez, over-moving, over-exaggerating, anytime Ramirez hits.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
Get the bucket.
You all right?
He's trying too bad.
He's trying to hit you in the back of the head on the break.
Right.
Hey, now look.
Come on with it, man.
Because he ain't ready.
You show up yourself now.
Get that intensity up with your lead hand, man.
Twos and threes.
Go on the truck.
Drive with the lead hand.
Just take it to him.
Take it to him.
Keep that distance.
Keep everything going.
Keep paying him high and low.
High and low.
High and low.
High and low.
Until you get what you say.
Round two.
Sergio, what did you think of Haney's first fight at 147 pounds?
Do you think he's just maybe trying to see what Norman's power feels like a little bit before getting a little more involved?
He's only three rounds in, and his welterweight division is honestly the next.
I want to see how he's going to react when he does get hit.
Three minutes.
He said three rounds.
I'm sorry, three minutes in.
Fair enough, Sergio.
It is 420 in the morning here.
420.
This fight was a virtual pick-up with the betting odds.
Good shot there by Haney.
That caught the attention of Roman Junior.
Good jab to follow it up there for Haney.
Haney's arch-enemy Ron Garcia just tweeted that he bet $50,000 on Haney to win.
Well, most people believe if Norman Junior wins, it's going to be by knockout.
If Haney wins, it'll be by decision.
What was your official prediction on this one, Sergio?
Norman Jr., but right now, I love that check hook that Haney landed.
It shook up.
It shook up Norman Jr., man.
I want to see that again because he hasn't really punched with aggression since then.
And that's what happens when you have a really hard fight.
Punching aggressive fighters are always on the front row.
You don't need to really be a hard puncher to meet them with their own momentum, with their own strength.
Credit to Devin Haney, who did not want to tune up at 147.
He went right after a world title.
Stop, stop, stop.
Not just a world title holder, but the number one guy at 147, according to the ring.
Three, two, one.
I'm telling you, he shook him like that last week.
The monster's hurt.
The assassin is broke right now.
Haney's going to jump on him right now.
And then another person.
He's going right for the kill.
This is not the Devin Haney we know.
He looks like a killer in there.
The referee's holding back.
He's jumping out of bed.
And maybe it's Haney who's going to do it.
This is not the Devin Haney we know.
Who would have predicted this?
It went up two.
Blood pouring out of his nose.
Go back to the jab you were aiming.
Do not overload on these punches.
By Norman Junior, he's just buying his time to catch up with that checker.
This would be one of the most unlikely knockouts we've seen in a long time.
There's that hook by Norman Junior.
He's got to go back to discipline, I'm telling you.
Warwick's untested on the top level, and he's finding out right now.
Remember, Devon Haney dropped Regis Progray and let off the gas.
He didn't go for the kill, but tonight he's going to get his score and die.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Give me that red.
Nice checkup, but Norman Jr. was hurt before that punch landed right there.
Earlier in the shot, earlier in this round, he got hit with a check left hook.
Right on the money right there.
You can see how the knees buckled and betrayed the assassin right there.
Devin Haney, the dream's not known for being a puncher, but he just put an assassin down on the canvas.
And again, Devin Haney, like I said, he's weight training at 140, at 147.
I think he's a lot stronger and he's not exhausted from the weight.
I'm becoming a believer now.
I want you to see what kind of boss he is.
Listen, leave him with one hand.
Bill Haney telling Devin to go downstairs, touch the body.
We're about to find out what Brian Norman Jr. is made of.
exactly todd well said because when it comes to monster punchers they're not they're not accustomed to being at the bad end of being punished how is he going to react norman already bloody blood coming from the nose i think he's just shell shocked right now he can't believe what hit him exactly and that's what takes away the confidence from monster punches when you go into a fight thinking
And the man is trying to become a three-weight world champion.
And he might do it in style.
Roman Jr. got hurt and rocked and dropped right here in this fight.
We're going to continue wondering as this fight goes on.
Haney just needs some discipline, patience, and smart.
That punch won't be there again.
Haney telling us this week, I'm on a different level than this guy.
And so far in this fight, he has been.
Another jab.
Norman needs something to build his confidence back up.
Yes, he does.
Good shot.
Yep.
Sergeant, you said earlier, when he got that big pachinko, it was his own momentum.
It's happening again.
Yup, that's what happens when it comes to these killers, man, when they're not experienced on the top level, they get over aggressive and run into shots.
There we go, that's what Devin Haney needs to do, just pass that jab, frustrate the killer, run into that shot.
Make him miss, make him pay.
Nope, nope, nope.
Haney has one of the best jabs he's ever seen.
Oh, you got to get going.
You got to get going.
That punch is gonna be there again.
Norman Jr. just...
Oh, the quick twitch muscle to get out of the way.
Too stiff.
They would have
A monster like Brian Newman Jr. in the back there.
He's just feeling the flow in there right now.
He's not just bothered at all.
By the assassin.
That check hook's going to be there again.
Devin Haney worked on that punch.
You can see him looking for it again.
Let's go!
We're doing this round by round.
And we're breaking this punk ass down.
Only thing that I need you to do is when you take that side, beg him to go that way.
Because remember, once we hit that pivot and we open him up, the left hand ain't going to have to throw it.
You see, he's dropping in.
So you're already seeing that shit.
See what I'm saying?
But you hit it with a combination right-hand hook.
You know what I'm saying?
So just keep it at 60.
See what I'm saying?
Drop on your stick, Kyle, to get there.
But I'm saying our hand is up high.
Here.
It's up high for the hook.
The brick is over here.
The brick is over here.
Just split it.
Because he's standing apart.
You split it with the heart.
Second down, round four.
What did you think of that bounce back round for Brian Norman?
I think it was better than expected, because when you get hit that cleanly, you know, normally you don't shake off the cobwebs.
Norman Jr. is lucky that Haney is not a big puncher, but right now, at this rate, Haney does look like a puncher.
Stop, stop, stop.
Makes you wonder, Sergio, how many fighters in boxing are fighting at the wrong weight.
Good point.
Killing themselves to make weight.
David Benavidez struggled mightily to make one significant change.
Look at that power jab by Haney.
What?
Haney always so comfortable in there.
Just looks as smooth as you like.
But a catastrophe averted for Roman Jr. at least so far getting off the canvas.
Slowly getting his wits about him.
And I've seen some chinks in the armor of Brian Norman Jr. when he fought a fighter named Quinton Randall.
You know, he was having issues, he was frustrated, and nothing special about Randall.
But he stepped back, he kept the long punches, fought at range, and that's what Devin Haney's doing right now.
And a lot of people thought maybe Haney would run, so to speak, a little Tom and Jerry, but that's not really the case.
And maybe this is the reason that Team Haney took this fight.
They saw the Achilles heel of Brian Norman Jr. Not at all.
And of course, you know, it's hard to fault Haney for being safety first after what happened against Ryan Garcia.
That was the first fight back.
This is a different story now.
as though it continues to trickle from Brian Haynes.
Yeah, the jab of Haynes has been relentless.
The jab of Haynes always relentless.
That's his best punch.
That's the check hook right there.
That's keeping Brian Norman Jr. in check right now.
Brian, Devin Haynes just tamed an assassin with that check hook.
It's been a bloody night, huh?
A bloody night.
Look at that.
Double jab, lift that hook.
And he's waiting for him to walk in on another punch.
Jab to the body for the junior.
Haney on the front foot.
Continues to back up Roman Jr.
The checkup with Claudia, who's with Jose Benavidez Sr.
We're here with Don Jose Benavidez.
It's a very busy night.
You've been in the ring already twice.
How's your stamina?
Stamina is great.
We've been running up and down.
You know, we've got to win and we've got to draw.
Now we've got the main event, David Benavidez, the Mexican Monster.
We're going to give you guys a great fight.
Well, this could be perhaps the most challenging fight for Benavidez.
one of the toughest fights in his career.
I think we're facing Anthony Yarra, a guy that has a lot of heart, has a lot of talent, and he's coming for everything.
This is the last, I believe that this will be his last opportunity to fight for a world title, and we're not gonna give him that title.
We're gonna defend it, we're gonna, David's gonna come victorious, and we're gonna give the fans a great show.
Real quick, what does he need to focus on?
He needs to focus, just stay focused, use the jab, and you know, we gotta go to the body.
We gotta go to the body, control the fight, and take him to deep waters, and hopefully we can drown him.
All right, thank you very much.
Thank you.
All right, round five.
We're going to check in with Mike Coppinger's scorecard here in a minute.
Surely, Haney's in the lead.
Thanks in large part to that knockdown.
Haney's looking for a...
a right hand over a lazy jab of norman jr right now you can see it by the by his right foot he's on the tip of his shoulders looking for that right hand now brian norman's a really competent fighter competent all lead up to this fight he doesn't seem that way right now
What happens when you take the tough guy away from the tough guy with punches like that?
Man, the jab again and blood comes out.
That is a power jab.
That's not a touch-up jab.
That right hand I'm looking for.
He's looking for a right hand.
He checked him with a left hook.
Now it's time for Norman to take that right hand.
How do you have it here, Mike?
Yeah, they gave Brian Norman the first round, obviously 10-8 with the knockdown in round two for Haney, and it's been old Haney ever since.
Let's check the fan zone.
You've got it the same, 39-36.
They gave the first round to Brian Norman Jr., so he still has a chance.
And there's the Norman Jr. Beautiful shot.
That was a delayed jab by the right hand.
That's a beautiful, well-timed right hand.
You know, in her last fight, Bam Rodriguez completely outclassed Puma Martinez.
This is somewhat similar to her fight, even maybe more done against another world champion, the Norman Jr. Don't worry about winning, bro.
Seems like Norman's having a lot of trouble breathing out of that nose surgery.
Yeah, it could be broken.
He's pawing at it.
Just like Puma Martinez was in the last fight.
Exactly.
And this is the thing about Devin Haney, man.
He's controlling.
He's keeping that long range.
Keeping that jab in his face.
And checking him with that right hand.
Look at that pivot.
Right to the middle of the ring.
That's ring jabs.
That's what I'm talking about right there.
That was the key to victory for Norman Jr.
He couldn't let Haney get confident with that jab, get into the rhythm.
You have to apply early pressure, get the respect of Haney, but it's all the way around right now.
Haney got the respect of the assassin.
Norman seems to be a little desperate.
He just went on, took him way out of range.
I was going to say, he just doesn't seem to be able to find the combination to if Haney's safe right now.
Doesn't know what really to do.
Devin Haney boxing perfectly with that jab.
That's the delayed right hand right there.
Slight pause when he threw that jab.
Just to open up way, an avenue for that right hand.
Beautiful shot.
Boxing, Norman Jr. in circles, keeping the fight in the middle of the ring, following the game plan to perfection.
Do you understand?
Do you understand?
Are you locked in?
Are you locked in?
All you have to do is play.
He does not want to play with you.
You have to play.
Seconds out.
Round six.
Let's check in with Malik Scott.
What are you seeing up there, Malik?
Well, first of all, right off the rip, I know this win.
The first round came, Devin Haney wasn't in flight.
He stood center a bit.
He was taking steps around, making circles around Norman, but he held his ground.
I really wasn't shocked with the check left hook that he connected with Norman, because Norman was so front foot heavy, and he's so gung-ho.
that he come across a bit novice and got his chin in front of his knee during this offense.
In a boxer like Devin Haney, you can't afford to do stuff like that, right?
Or you're running to check left hooks.
And now what you're doing is Devin Haney is trying to catch him with his full right hand.
He still has to be alert.
He still has to be careful because, you know, Norman Jr. got this.
He's got to keep his eyes on his left hand.
So right now with what Haney is doing, all he has to do, to me, he should use his jab a lot more.
That's the way to do it.
He's trying to settle in with that right hand.
That left hook has been magic for Devin Haney.
Patience and discipline if you're Haney right now.
Norman Jr. will get frustrated, will make the mistake, will run into those shots.
He keeps pushing forward, swinging shots, hasn't really thrown any combinations, hasn't gone to the body much.
You gotta double and triple your shots to the body.
You gotta jab your way in and dig the body just like he did right there.
He has to make this fight physical.
He can't outbox a brilliant boxer like Haney.
You know, we talked earlier about the massive disparity in experience here.
Haney said he was going to show Norman the level two game so far.
He's been right.
Total punches landed, 37 for Haney, 25 for Norman Jr. Norman Jr. has thrown 85 punches more.
Yes!
Look at the jabs thrown by Norman Juneau, 126.
Hasn't been able to land.
It's gonna be so frustrating for Norman Jr. on a lot of levels.
Now he's been dropped, his nose might have been broken, it's tough to breathe.
He can't see the land on Haney.
And Haney's not running, Mike.
Not at all.
Haney's standing right there in the pocket, fighting Brian Norman, and again, I think he's gonna have to make Brian Norman pay some more, too.
I wouldn't be surprised if Haney
Hurts Norman Jr. with a jab.
Norman Jr. is keeping his head in the same line of fire against one of the best jabs in the business.
And Norman made that same mistake when he won the title against Giovanni Sanzi in another brawler.
He got hit with a lot of shots when he was backing up, keeping his head on the center line.
That was a different class of fighter.
No head movement by Norman Jr.
We're here with Tunde and everything is said and done and you're just a few minutes away from the moment of truth.
What are your thoughts?
It's been a long camp, 16 weeks and it's cool, calm, collected and ready to shock the world.
Let's talk about third time is a charm.
This would be the third time that he's looking for that opportunity to take the title with him.
How important is this for you and him?
Absolutely.
I think it says more about his will, his resilience, and the fact that you fall down once, you get up.
You fall down twice, you get up.
You fall down three times, you get up, but this time you stay up.
Last minute prediction.
A win.
We will have to wait and see.
We look forward to it.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you very much.
who entered this fight as a slight underdog.
I believe maybe an underdog for the first time in his career does not look like that at all.
Not at all.
And Ryan Garcia is about to win some big money if the fight keeps going as it has.
If you get him, you win this fight.
If Ryan Garcia can win the fight, he said he's doing much to fire Barber.
I don't know about him.
You're going to see a rematch down the line.
It's going to be the biggest rematch of all time.
Devin Haney starting this round more aggressive.
The one-two, as sweet as you like.
I would doubt if Bill Haney in the corner of Haney's home put a little bit more pressure on Roman G to put him on the back foot.
A moment ago, Haney just sat down and bought a massive upset that just missed.
And this is so odd, Sergio, because let's be honest, Haney has always been safety first, right?
Even when he dropped pro-grade submission early, he just didn't want to make any mistakes.
Tonight, he's going for broken a lot of these excuses.
Maybe we're seeing a different version of Devin Haney from now on.
He got dropped with Ryan Garcia a few times.
He ran a little bit too much.
He boxed a little bit too much against Ramirez.
Maybe those critics have turned Devin Haney into the monster that we wanted.
Haney just looks so much bigger than Borba does.
He looks like a new human being in there.
Bigger, better, stronger, smarter.
Look at that check hook right there.
But again, Norman Jr. does have the great equalizer.
If he could just land it, but so far it's just, it's looked like a... Not tonight, Todd.
Not tonight, man.
He's a step behind and a punch behind.
He's trying to land it, though.
But yeah, Haney keeps dumping under it, moving out of the way of it.
There are so many big fights in this division.
They're reaching right next to you.
Get off!
Get off!
Get off!
Get off!
Get off!
Now you see a little light in the offense of Norman Jr. right now, the last minute or so.
He needs to continue going.
Trying to turn this fight around in the second half.
I think this is what Norman needs to do, right?
Make it a more healthy fight, try to establish himself on the inside, wrestle a little bit.
He doesn't need to be ugly, just more aggressive.
You know, punch, punch in the hamstring, the hamstring, uh...
You know, get some rest in the inside.
Punch with the free hand if you're Norman Jr. A little clinch.
But that range was just getting pieced up with that jab.
Yes, he is.
That's why Norman Jr. needs to break that range.
He needs to double and triple his jab to get inside and then dig away at the body of Amy.
Take it off!
Take it off!
Norman Jr. 28 and 0.
Yes!
And that left hook that he dropped Sasaki with.
And not Amy tonight.
After midnight today is Brian Norman Jr.'s birthday.
That's the way you're going to spend it.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, the WBC Grand Prix reaches its climax December 20th.
The coveted Jose Suleiman trophy is the prize with four finals of one action-packed evening in Riyadh.
Don't miss it only on DAZN.
And what a fight this is going to be, Sergio.
Malvarete versus Sugar Nunez, Saturday, February 28th.
That's a good old Mexican standoff.
I can't wait.
That's going to be bloody intense.
You understand?
The IBF and WBO Super Featherweight titles on the line.
Norman Jr. in that last round.
We'll see if he can continue it in this next round.
Because he needs to do something in the second half.
Yeah, think about when Devin Haney fought Jorge Linares.
He hurt him pretty bad, and he got reckless, and he got hurt himself.
Yeah, look at that.
At the end of the 11th round, Haney kind of wobbled his way back to the corner, but survived the 12th.
The only junior who needs to get out of the line of fire is that jab.
He needs to start moving his head to the left or to the right.
He can't keep it in the center, because Haney's going to keep piecing him up with that line of jabs.
Right there, Norman Jr. should be moving his head and roughing him up.
Just like that.
Punch with the free hand.
Punch out whatever Haney is giving you.
Double and triple your way in.
Jab your way in if you're Norman Jr. You can't be posturing in front of a guy with a wicked fast jab like Haney.
But you can see that Norman Jr. is respecting something.
Oh, nice right hand on the left there from Norman Jr.
He's still got life.
For some reason, Haney's pretty much abandoning the job in the first minute of this round.
You're just tuning in.
Devin Haney dropped Brian Norman Jr. in round two.
He's busted up his nose, has won basically every round.
But Norman Jr., as Sergio mentioned, may have found a second win.
The last round was maybe his best.
This is continuing off of success.
And he's coming in now with a two-run, which is taking away the left hook, the check hook of Haney.
A very smart adjustment by Brian Norman Jr.
Instead of coming in with a one-two, he's coming in with a two-one.
Right there, right there.
Stop, stop, stop, stop.
Three straight KO wins for Brian Norman Jr., Giovanni Sentien, Eric Cuevas, and Jim Sasaki.
There we go.
That's what I want to see from Norman Jr. You've got to make this rough.
Sit back, sit back, sit back.
You're in there with an artist.
You can't try to outbox a boxer like Gavin Haney.
You gotta rough him up.
There's the jab Mike Coppedger asked for.
Good footwork from Haney.
We're more accustomed to seeing that.
Stick and move.
Norman Jr. started out this round good, but now he's letting Haney get back into the rhythm.
Norman told Haney in the build up to this, he goes, I dare you to stand in the pocket with me.
For the most part, Haney's done that.
Not plastic in the pocket, but he's been in front of Norman Jr.
Try to get him to walk into it.
There is the Mexican monster.
He'll be going for broke in our main event.
Sergio, what do you expect to see from Benavidez tonight?
I think he's going to want to put on a show.
Same thing with yours.
Both these guys got big power.
this fight going the distance way too much dynamite the world is yours locked in this is it baby this is it let's get it again we're going home with that belt you heard me we're going home with that baby
We got four more rounds.
Nine, ten, eleven, twelve.
We got four more rounds.
Take this nigga out of here.
Make it rough.
Take it out of here.
Seconds out.
Round nine.
It's round nine.
Let's check in with Malik.
Scott Malik, do you see a way back into this fight for Brian Norman Jr.?
Well, first of all, what I want to say, the most important punch in boxing is the jab, correct?
And Brian Norman Jr. has a very hard front foot jab, but what he lacks is jab defense.
And he can make small adjustments with his head.
He needs to get his head off the center with the jab so Haney's just not hitting him with a jab.
And in my opinion, Haney needs to throw more jabs to set up bigger offense times than he wants to.
It's a very good fight.
I believe Norman is still winning, but I also believe that Haney got to stay alert and stay switched on because at any time, that hook can land and it could be night over.
So there's still a chance for Norman Jr. Shane flashes, although makes him dangerous, but Malik's right.
I mean, he keeps his head in the line of fire.
He's not moving side to side.
He's not trying to make any missing play with that right hand or the jab.
But that's what happens when that power gets good to you, and you're used to knocking out everything you touch.
You forget about defense, you forget about upper body movement, forget footwork.
The power gets good to you.
I also thought that was a pretty good round eight for Norman, and good advice from his father.
I think that was a good round seven and eight.
The momentum's shifting a little bit, but you can expect, of course, this is a real champion, that Norman Jr.
See right there, you can see how heavy the feet are of Norman Jr. And now it's athletic.
Once he misses the first two punches, he squares up and falls off balance.
Punches need to be...
flat-footed.
They need to, you know, dig their heels in the ground to get all that power.
That works whenever you're dealing with flat-footed punchers and flat-footed boxers.
But now when you're dealing with fleet-footed fighters like Devin Haney.
There's a left hook there from the junior, but he's throwing it certainly low, and it comes there.
Same to Norman, he landed earlier.
Again, Norman Jr., maybe, maybe, maybe.
Yeah, I'm seeing what I need to see from Norman Jr.
This is what I expected, maybe, in the fight.
But the fight got taken out of Norman Jr. with that knockdown too early.
And the referee warns Brian Norman for sticking his forearm into Haney's neck, but I think it's a good move.
He's got to make this a rubber fight.
Good body shot there by Norman Jr.
It's a Floyd Mayweather special.
Good jab there from Devin Haney.
That would have been a clash of heads if Roman Junior kind of rushed in there.
The last two rounds, I would say are pretty good for Norman Jr., but this is definitely the best one.
Maybe the last three rounds.
Claudia Trejos is with ring ambassador Hamza Shiraz.
Thank you, Todd.
Yes, as always, Hamza, very sharp.
This fight, very tight, very close.
Who do you have?
I've got Devin up because of knockdown.
I feel like if he gets a little bit more aggressive, he could potentially get Bryan out of there.
But yeah, let's see what happens.
And for the main event, Benavidez or Yard?
I've got Benavidez to win, Yards' fellow Ilferda from the same area.
Hopefully he can pull it off, but I've got Benavidez to win.
And I know there's plans for you for 2026.
Can you share with us?
Hopefully I'll be back out here, back out here in the early part of next year, hopefully in a big fight.
Anyone in the 168-pound division, I'm just sure I've just got them on notice.
Any name?
No names yet.
No names yet.
Well, we look forward to seeing you back.
Thank you so much.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
We're heading into round 10.
Can the birthday boy come back into this fight after being dropped and nearly stopped in round two?
I need to continue this momentum.
I don't know if Hany's just taking off some rounds or Norman Jr. is finding some success in his offense.
Well, you said you gave the first round to Norman Jr.
Probably the last two.
Maybe the last three.
So, yeah, I mean, with another successful round by Norman Jr., this fight might be tightening up.
But I'm seeing life in Norman Jr. That's all I wanted to see because he was dropped early and he was being dominated in the middle.
Well, yeah, I've given Brian Norman the last two rounds, and I see right there, even the first round as well, so fight tightening up a little bit, but Haney's fight to lose.
I'm surprised that Haney hasn't decided to be more aggressive.
Sergei is just going to lean back a little bit.
I'm surprised he's been this aggressive, you know, but this is what he said he was going to do after his last fight with Ramirez, where he was just skittish and boxing, running a little bit too much.
He ain't running no more.
He's boxing, he's fighting.
Great performance by Devin Haney.
You saw the fan zone has it, 88-82.
There was a left hook from Devin Haney.
Gorman ate that one pretty well.
Either way, you've got to believe Gorman Jr. has to win these last three rounds if he wants to have any chance.
Oh, yeah.
Probably needs a knockout, too.
There you go.
I see it now.
I see it now.
Come on, Willie.
Kevin Haney kept saying all week, just wait until you see what I do.
Just wait.
In the first half of the fight, he was as good as gold, no doubt.
The assassin trying to creep his way back into him.
The assassin is worried about the firepower coming back.
Glad to Devin Haney for checking this monster, man.
I mean, this was supposed to be a boogeyman on welterweight.
And Devin Haney is controlling him, dominating him.
Norman Jr. turned pro at 17, fought in Mexico for 13 of his first 14 bouts.
Both these guys make their friends in Mexico.
They did it the hard way.
Both guys treat their fathers who have been exchanging a lot of words for a few months now.
And look at him, still putting the power behind that right hand.
Still wanting to hurt Norman Jr.
Haney has done everything right, kept the fight in the middle of the ring, not over-exerted himself, stayed off the ropes, hasn't let Norman Jr. get any kind of confidence.
And of course that jab, that brilliant jab of Devin Haney.
Conor Benn, interested observer.
He's an option at 147.
No question.
You know, just beat Chris Eubank Jr. at 160 pounds, but 147 is his best weight, and he told me last week that he will be going back there straight away.
And falling asleep on the shoulder.
Don't forget, Conor Bennett and Devin Haney, no love lost there.
Nothing to fall asleep, man.
This is a brilliant performance by Devin Haney.
And in the corner, Brian Norman Jr. Sr. just told him he better go for broke.
Yeah, he tried to whisper it that we couldn't hear, but our DAZN microphone is doing a great job.
And he does need to go for broke.
You know what?
Stranger things have happened, too, from Devin Haney.
I wouldn't say I've got this in the bag yet by any means.
You never want to get on your bike just because you think you're up on the scorecard.
You've seen me fight one too many fighters.
Dale Hoyer didn't show you that before.
I was going to say that.
He was literally running around the ring.
Haney's not doing that yet, but we're getting a lot of these awkward exchanges where the judges could be like, I'm going to give the round to Norman Jr.
I've given the last three rounds to Norman Jr. Yeah, I think he's done well for the second half.
It's a little bit Norman Jr. and it's a little bit Haney taking his foot off the gas.
Why do you think Haney did step off the gas?
Because he's dominated the first half of the fight and he's not known as a knockout puncher.
He's not known for taking guys out.
I think he's comfortable with the lead.
but he should still not be too comfortable in the championship round.
There's been a lot of hype around Devin Haney since a young age, a seven-time national amateur champion.
He had a record of 130-8 before he turned pro at age 17, and a chance tonight to become eight.
three-weight world champion.
Incredible, man.
I mean, just the run that Devin Haley's been on since he fought Gamboa back in 2020.
I mean, he's fought eight out of nine of those fights for world champion.
Incredible resume that he's putting together.
No question.
I mean, went over to Australia and beat George Kambosis twice for the Undisputed Lightweight Championship.
You know, the best win of his career.
Many people didn't think he won it.
I thought he won it against Vasily Lomachenko.
And he's on his way to another win right here.
So there's always a fear.
How would Devin Haney do against another heavy-handed puncher after Ryan Garcia dropped him three times?
He's shown tonight he's not scared to engage.
Not only that, but he's a bigger fighter moving up in weight.
So now, you can't question Devin Haney's heart, chance, power, because he's in there with probably the biggest punch out of all 37.
And he's definitely taking this one too.
This crowd's still showing life, despite the fact that we are in the weekend, in the morning.
5 a.m. here in Rio.
Good little sneaky body shot by Haney on the inside.
Yeah, Norman keeps getting inside, smothering his punches and then clinching.
Probably not the game plan this quarter, much to say.
I'm disappointed in Norman Jr.'s upper body movement.
Way too stiff, making it easy for Devin Haney to land that jab.
He's right down the pipe.
Gotta be elusive with your upper body.
Gotta break that distance with snappy, quick jobs.
Got to go to the body.
Stop the movement.
The lateral movement doesn't hit anybody.
Norman Tootles just continues just moving in the same direction without moving the body.
Put the ball, gentlemen.
Two check!
Two check!
Go!
That's eating the clock up.
That's taking his gas.
If he was a bad motherfucker like they said he was, he would have came and got out.
Now that opens the hook up
This is the 12th and final round.
All right, here we go, ladies and gentlemen, the 12th and final round.
Haney dominated the first half of this fight.
He's won probably most of the rounds since.
But Mike, does he still have a chance?
Brian Morgan.
I think that Haney will up round if I keep Brian Morgan 8-9 and 2-5.
8-9-10, so Brian Morgan and Mark Carr definitely need a knockout right now.
And now it's Norman Jr. moving on, on the inside.
The burst of adrenaline for Haney, knowing this is the last round, he should just cruise into the finish line with that jab, but he's still in the face of Norman Jr., still being physical.
There's a left hand for Norman.
But again, just gets too close, and they couldn't shot.
We'd like to see Norman land some of those punches and take a step back.
Got to go for broke.
That's what his dad told him to do.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Bill Haney telling his son to stop playing.
Yeah, because he's getting a chance to Norman Jr. to land something on the inside.
Keep boxing.
Keep the fight in the middle of the ring.
Why fight Norman Jr.'s fight?
Keep sticking that jab, keep busting him up, right in the middle of the ring, cruising to the finish line.
So right here, Andy Jr. should be walking back Norman Jr., not only killing the clock, but killing the leg of a fatigued fighter, a fatigued puncher.
Body strikes there from Haney.
Final round.
Like you said, Sergio, once again, he's just smothering his own shots.
Swearing up.
It seems like Norman Jr. has resigned.
Trying to do something.
trying to get a knockout, last-minute, heroic knockout.
Right here, Norman Drew should be letting those hands go, the fists fly, and he's contentious wrestling and grappling with Devin Haney.
Devin Haney telling Devin to tie his ass up.
Yeah, no!
He goes, what?
It looks like Devin Jr.'s tying him up, too.
Tie him up and walk him down.
That's what you do.
That's what you do.
Put in cruise control now, Haney.
He can move laterally.
Cruising to the finish line.
What a perfect performance by someone that everyone questioned.
The critics had a lot to say.
We had a lot to say.
And he takes a punch at 144.
And he wins in another division against the biggest puncher at Rotterdam.
What a beautiful masterclass.
Devin Haney now a three-division world champion.
On December 13th, we'll be back in California as undefeated super middleweight Diego Pacheco continues his bid for world honors when he faces Kevin Sajo.
That's December 13th live on DAZN.
Well, Mike, what are your thoughts on the performance tonight from the dream Devin Haney?
I think that was a brilliant masterclass performance from Devin Haney, especially when you consider the question marks facing him.
People said, a lot of people in boxing said, Ryan Holmes is going to knock this guy out.
He's finished.
Ryan Garcia damaged him badly, and Haney left no doubt.
And the punctuation mark was really that knockdown we're looking at right now in round two, right, Todd?
That was it.
People questioned Devin Haney's heart.
I questioned his chin.
I question, did he suffer too much damage at the hands of Bryan Garcia?
But nope, this is a three-division champion who doesn't cut corners, doesn't cheat, doesn't miss weight, as a total professional.
Credit to the dream Devin Haney, because that's a true, true professional and a true champion.
Norman Jr. never really had Haney in any sort of trouble.
There was never a moment where he thought Haney might go down.
It was just he knocked Norman Jr. down in the second, and then after that, just basically outboxed him the rest of the way home.
As for Brian Norman Jr., Sergio, what would your advice be to him as he goes back home to Georgia?
Move your waist, move your head, focus on footwork, on foot speed.
Punching and power is not going to be enough at the elite level, and he just discovered that tonight.
Ryan Norman Jr., who entered as the champion of 147 pounds.
He was the favorite in this contest, but in the end, not on the level, or so it seemed, of Devin Haney.
Thomas Treiber has the scores.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 12 rounds of boxing, we go to the judges' scorecards.
Judge Mike Fitzgerald scores it 114 to 113.
Judge Jerry Martinez scores it 117 to 110.
And Judge Lejec John Kobiak scores it 116 to 111.
All for your winner by unanimous decision,
and new WBO welterweight champion of the world, Devin The Dream Heat!
One judge had it.
114, 113, the rest of them by a wide margin as Devin the Dream Haney is the new WBO welterweight champion of the world.
And not a mark on his face.
Look at the face of Brian Norman Jr. That didn't look like a fight that was 114, 114.
This was...
A dominant performance by Devin Haney.
Facing adversity, facing his demons, and becoming a three-division world champion.
All eyes on Haney now.
Yeah, I added 116, 111.
I gave Brian Norman four rounds.
Obviously, there was a 10-8 round in round two for Devin Haney.
And I don't know what Judge Mike Fitzgerald was watching.
That means he had it 6-6 even in rounds.
Well, in the end, the right guy got the win, and he's the new champ.
Claudia's with him now.
Thank you, Todd.
Congratulations.
And the new Welcome to the Welterweights.
How does that feel?
First off, I want to, you know, say Alhamdulillah.
Allah is the greatest.
He's the best of planners.
In 2024, I lost everything.
Everything came crashing on me.
In 2025, I came to get it back.
In 2026, I'm coming for everything.
And you're definitely making a nice little mark in this division.
So with that being said, let's talk about that second round.
You had him, and then all of a sudden, the wave started changing.
Even though you dominated, what made it so difficult to take him down?
Yeah, no, he came out exactly how we planned, and so I was able to capitalize.
But after I hurt him and dropped him, he made an adjustment, so then we had to adjust to that as well.
But he's a true champion.
He's definitely better than I expected, but I give him credit for it.
I thank him for the opportunity, giving me the opportunity to become champion again.
You just said he surprised you.
What surprised you?
about him?
What was different?
What was new?
Well, like I said, we trained for, you know, how he came out initially, but he made an adjustment like, you know, champions are supposed to.
So we readjusted and we racked up those rounds.
We mentioned before you've been dominant in two divisions and now this is your third division.
So is 147 where you feel the best?
Yeah, of course.
You know, 147 is a weight class that I was supposed to be at for a long time.
My dad has been telling me it's time to move up for a long time, but it was just so much at stake at 135 and 140.
But I'm here to stay at 147 for a long time.
I know this is very soon, you just got your belt, but who might you like to face in this division?
Yeah, we take it on all comers.
It doesn't matter who it is.
Whoever my dad say he want me to fight, that's who I'm going to fight.
Mr. Bill, any words?
Allah Akbar.
No names?
Come on, a little something something.
Listen, thank you for a wonderful night.
Riyadh is amazing.
Turkey Al-Ashiq, Sela, Dr. Rakan, you know what I mean?
We thank them for this opportunity.
This has been a dream come true.
And I mean, I'm going to let Champ enjoy his night, and I'll let you know on another day.
I'll wait.
Thank you so much.
And again, congratulations.
Back to you, Kate.
Thank you to Turkey Al-Ashiq, His Excellency.
Riyadh season ring.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you.
Yeah, thank you so much, Claudia.
Joining me now to talk about what we've just seen, two very interested spectators.
We've got the welterweight contender, Conor Benn, and his promoter, matchroom chairman, Eddie Hearn.
Let's talk about what we just saw then from Devin Haney, because great performance from him.
First of all, were you surprised when he got the knockdown in the second round?
And has he changed your perception of him with that performance?
I mean, listen, he caught with a good shot early on, credit to Brian for getting up.
I mean, it wasn't really a great performance in my opinion.
He looks scared.
He looks scared of his own shadow in there.
He engaged differently to the way he did in the Jose Ramirez fight.
He didn't really want to engage.
You know, he's happy to nick rounds and nick fights.
But for me, yeah, there weren't no entertainment in there.
And it's entertainment business.
Ultimately, I give people fight of the year contenders.
He puts people to sleep.
And I'm not talking about in the ring.
It's fighting talk, Eddie.
Obviously, you've got to decide who you give Conor next at 147, which is the division he says he wants to campaign in.
Devin Haney's now the WBO champ.
Is that the fight you want?
Yeah, I mean, after that, I mean, not really.
I mean, look, he wants to fight for the world title, but you've got to give Devin Haney credit and respect.
I mean, he's just become a three-division world champion, but no one's going to want to watch him fight.
I mean, he's fighting scared.
Oh, hold on, though.
He went up a division.
He went to 147.
He fought an unbeaten champion and one of the biggest fighters in the division.
He doesn't want to engage at any moment during the fight.
And you can't, you know, you've got Turk Alashay, who's paying the money.
You had the fight at Times Square, and then you had that.
So that's why I'm saying, you have to give him credit because he's become a three-division world champion.
But he said to me, he came over to the ropes after, he said, you backed against me.
I said, mate, you've got to switch it up.
You can't keep fighting like that because no one's going to want to tune in and watch.
And again, amazing achievement.
But he didn't.
doesn't want to engage at all in the fight.
And if you fight someone that's actually going to come forward and throw sharp combinations at you and move the head off the line, like Conor Benn does, rather than just coming forward in straight lines and lunging in and squaring up his feet.
But, you know, of course, he wants to fight all the champions, but I wouldn't say that he's the guy we're going to be calling out.
How about Rolly Romero, WBA champ?
He can get it here.
He can get it, no problem.
That'll be a fun fight.
That excites me.
Ryan excites me.
You see that in there?
I don't want to give people that.
What, scared fighter?
He's scared of his own shadow.
He didn't even want to throw a jab in case his own jab caught him back.
Do you feel the same?
Do you feel that Rolly Romero's the better fighter?
Yeah, look, styles make fights.
Conor's always going to be an exciting fighter, but he's got his eyes on that WBC strap.
You know, I mentioned the other champions, Rolly Romero, Lewis Crocker, and he's like, just give me that WBC.
But it looks like that's occupied to some extent, right?
That's going to be in February, by the sounds of things.
So we spoke to Turkelashake tonight.
He was talking about the winner, maybe Cinco de Mayo in Las Vegas.
That would be nice to bring 10,000 Brits over there.
Ryan Garcia, Barrios, Cinco de Mayo in Vegas.
That is the dream.
If we can make that happen, that's what I want next.
If not, then we go Rowley.
If not, then we can go for... Devin.
I'll keep it PG.
We can keep it for Haney.
either one of them I just want to give people the fight they want I want to give the fans what they want and that's fight of the year contenders that's value for money that's vulnerability that's knockouts that's sheer sit on your edge sort of kind of business I hear you not none of this running around we enjoyed your last performance it was spectacular I hope we get to see you in a fight again soon talk to me about your other fight at Bam Rodriguez who was on the card and what a great performance that was phenomenal
I mean, that was like number one against number two in the world.
So ring magazine champion, ring magazine number one in Puma, another world champion, another belt for Bam.
He did it without even coming out of second gear.
And what he did was, and this is, I was talking about that, but he constantly tried to get him out of there.
Even when he was winning so comfortably, he kept trying to get the stoppage.
He was taking chances.
He didn't mind taking a few to try and force the knockout.
Slip four or five punches, beautiful show-reel knockout.
One more belt to go, undisputed.
Move to bantamweight, try and do it again.
And maybe a night you're a new way fighter at the end of 2026.
Bam's now in top five, top four pound for pound.
He's 25 years old.
Phenomenal talent.
Yes, absolutely.
Is he in his prime yet?
Is he in his prime yet?
Yeah, well, I think these younger weight classes will reach their prime quicker than the higher weight classes.
But for me, he's getting better and better and better every performance.
Yeah, it looks that way.
Thank you so much.
Good to see you both.
So we do still have just an incredible main event to come for you after a very short break with Anthony Yard rolling the dice again against another pound for pound superstar.
This time it is David Benavidez who puts his WBC and WBA light heavyweight titles up for grabs in this one.
A Date With Destiny is coming up next.
I'm the most vicious fighter on this card.
You know, I think I've been making a case for myself that I'm a relentless fighter, a pressure fighter, a fighter that the people love to watch.
Stylistically, you've got two heavy hitters that both go forward and look for the stoppage.
He's on the pound for pound list for a reason.
That's extra motivation for me to get the job done.
Even if he doesn't show any weaknesses, I'll bring him out of them.
I'm a massive believer that our styles make fights.
The fact he comes forward is beneficial for me.
I feel like I'm on a whole different level than Anthony Yard.
IQ-wise, pressure-wise, stamina-wise, I'm just an all-around better fighter.
I'm always going to look out for a knockout victory.
We're going to meet in the middle of the ring and have a shootout.
The Mexican monster is the scariest out there.
On November 22nd, live and exclusive on DAZN, David Benavidez, the undefeated Mexican monster, a two-time world champion chasing even more greatness, comes toe-to-toe with Anthony Yard, East London's hungry lion, powerhouse puncher, battle-hardened warrior.
For Benavidez, it's another scalp to add to an already immaculate 30-0 record.
For Anthony Yard, could this finally be the redemption and glory he's been chasing?
Before they meet in the ring, they meet here face to face.
This is Benavidez versus Yard.
This is Face Off.
First time you guys seeing each other?
First time.
Absolutely, yeah.
Yeah?
What do fighters do when they see each other for the first time?
Is it like a sizing up, like a height?
What do you do?
I think now at this moment we're both at, you know, we have basically veterans in the game.
You know, it's just another meeting, another encounter.
It doesn't really mean nothing until we get in the ring, you know.
He looks like a good dude, looks like a nice guy.
He's a great fighter in the ring and, you know, I have a lot of respect for him.
And vice versa.
Again, what he's done, who he's fought.
who is beat, but I just know it's going to be an interesting one for the fans.
Very entertaining, I can just tell.
Both of you fight in a way where this almost can't be boring, right?
When you look at your fights and it's always exciting, exciting, but it's always hurtful as well.
Right.
I mean, opponents get hurt.
It can be dangerous.
Does that not bring a level of caution?
Me as a normal human being, that almost frightens me to know that this is what's going to happen.
We know what's going to happen.
I think at the end of the day, when you're just like that, you're just like that.
You know, I watch his fights.
He likes to go forward.
He likes to press the action.
He likes to look for the knockouts.
I'm the same way.
So I think at the end of the day, it's going to be both egos going at each other.
Who's going to back up?
It's not going to be me.
This is star power from the jump.
Now basketball is my favorite sport.
The way they dribble up and down the course.
Oh, that's smooth.
Are you not entertained?
College basketball, it is indeed back.

The Magnificent Seven, headlined by Moses Itauma against Jermaine Franklin.
It comes your way January 24th, and then more action in February when Emmanuel Navarrete faces Eduardo Sugar Nunez for the IBF and WBO super featherweight titles.
Big-time boxing is what we do.
Which one of these two lions will leave Wimbledon at the face of English boxing?
It's over!
Alexander Usyk and Tyson Fury lock horns all over again.
Here's Itelma, the heir apparent.
And he's just done it.
Round one.
Destruction.
He's out on his feet.
They've stepped away.
Majority.
These shots are really sweet from Stevenson.
No love lost between these two.
Dimitri Vidal.
Archer.
Better be it.
Bianca.
OK, everybody, well, let's get back to the action here in Riyadh in the light heavyweight division, which is one of the most competitive in boxing right now, by the way.
Dimitri Bivol is the reigning ring champion.
He also holds the WBO and the IBF titles.
A trilogy with Artur Biterbiev seems to be on the cards for 2026.
But the number two in the ring rankings, that is David Benavidez.
and the number four, who is his opponent this evening, Anthony Yard, they both have a chance to stake their own claim for a shot at the winner of that fight, and thereby a potential shot at undisputed.
The stakes simply could not be higher in tonight's main event.
So very well, welcome everybody inside the A&B arena where David Benavidez and Anthony Yard are gonna make their walks very soon indeed from over here.
I'm Kate Scott, this is Malik Scott.
We know that David Benavidez comes into this fight as the favored fighter, right?
So let's talk a little bit about Anthony Yard and how he can have some success against David Benavidez.
What's the key gonna be for him?
Well, there's a few things he can and can't do.
He can't put himself in a position where he's not being physical.
As you can see here, Andrade is being physical with Benavidez.
He's smothering him.
It doesn't look that pretty, but he's not allowing Benavidez to get his short offense off.
And he's going to have to make it ugly at times, and he can't be on that long distance.
He has to be in his chest at times to make it work for him.
Also, another thing he has to do, he has to take center of the ring.
And this is a mental advantage he could do.
Gvasik was doing it very good here.
He came out the first round, wasn't backing up, holding his ground, using the jab, using a probing jab, using a post at times just to let Benavidez know, you have a reputation as a monster, but you're going to have to prove it to me to let me know who you are.
What else have we seen be important against when fighting David Benavidez?
Another thing that Yardi just cannot afford to do.
He can't afford to stay in the high guard because Benavidez is a master at swiping the high guard.
He'll move that guard out the way and make you pay viciously with left hooks, with uppercuts.
He'll swipe that guard and just make you pay with all type of punches.
So he just can't be sitting in the high guard all night long because that could cause him to have a short night or a long painful night.
How do you think this one plays out?
What happens tonight in this fight?
Two big punchers have said they want a shootout.
Do we get a shootout, and who does that work for?
You have two big punchers.
You have, to me, both of them have good speed.
I would give the speed advantage a little bit more to Benavidez.
The punch volume definitely go to Benavidez.
I have to give it to Benavidez, who I think will win.
That's because I think Yardi, he runs out of ideas on the second half of the fight at the high level.
And it don't get no higher level than fighting David Benavidez, a ring pound-for-pound fighter.
So he's going to have to be on his PZQs.
Okay, so David Benavidez by knockout.
I would say late half.
All right, well, it's time for the main event, everybody.
Hall of Fame ring announcer Michael Buffer is over there in the ring.
But before that, here's the almost as smooth Todd Grisham with the tale of the tape.
I'll take it.
Nobody's as smooth as Michael Buffer.
These two men, nothing smooth about them.
They are seek and destroy warriors.
David Benavidez, 30 and 0.
Anthony Yard, 27 and 3.
Benavidez, 28 years old, 6 foot 2, 2 inches taller than Yard.
This is for the WBC, WBA World Light Heavyweight titles.
Here we go, ladies and gentlemen.
Into the ring now, and Mr. Michael Buffer.
