Reinhardt Buhr, born in Johannesburg in 1988, began his musical journey after a troubled youth marked by substance abuse and a lack of passion for music. At 19, he fell in love with the guitar, teaching himself and later learning Flamenco Rumba from YouTube. He played his first solo Spanish guitar gig at a roadside steak restaurant, which sparked a career that led him to form the duo Wild Lettuce and tour nationally. After a period of heavy drug use and a band breakup, he hit an all‑time low in 2016, but a spiritual awakening with his wife led him to abandon drugs and dedicate his music to God. Since then, he has composed 17 albums, blending instruments like the laser harp, didgeridoo, and cello in a live looping system to create a symphonic sound, and his work has reached over a hundred million views online.
