These federal agents are, of course, doing their jobs and enforcing the law, but the following is also true.
These neighbors are listening to their conscience.
This is the scene playing out in cities across the country, neighbors taking on ICE agents.
In Nashville, they formed this human chain, successfully blocking two immigration agents from taking away a father who's lived here for the last 14 years.
He was inside the white van with his son.
All of us just came together and we did the right thing.
We did it for a million other families.
We'll do it today.
We'll do it tomorrow.
This is what America is all about.
Even the sheriff refused a call to the scene, saying in a statement this morning that his office does not in any way participate in ICE raids.
New rules from Homeland Security mean that as many as 300,000 unauthorized immigrants now have a greater chance of being deported.
The government is expediting deportations for immigrants who can't prove that they've been in the country for at least two years.

In Kansas City, this family was broadcasting live on Facebook as ICE agents moved in to detain the husband.
The officer smashed the window.
In a statement, the government explains that in this case, the man was an immigration fugitive with a prior criminal history that includes misdemeanor offenses.
And they say he had illegally reentered the United States under an assumed name.
I told him not to refuse because I didn't want them to shoot him.
In Los Angeles Sunday, bystanders were protesting and recording the drama on their cell phones.
As immigration agents pulled a mother of two out of her car.
Federal authorities point out that there were more of these forced removals under the Obama administration.
