Description:

New footage has emerged showing the sole known survivor of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad walking away from the burning wreckage on Thursday, June 12. The video shows 40‑year‑old British citizen Viswashkumar Ramesh limping through debris and flames before being helped into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Ramesh, who was travelling with his brother Ajaykumar Ramesh, was the only one to survive the crash of the London‑bound Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner. The death toll stands at 271, including all other passengers and crew. "I myself cannot believe how I came out alive," Ramesh told India’s DD News. "Because for some time I also felt that I was going to die. When I opened my eyes, I realised that I am alive. I found a way to get out of the plane after the accident." The crash occurred minutes after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport. Ramesh described a sudden failure just after the aircraft lifted off the runway. "It seemed as if the plane had stopped working," he said. The aircraft plummeted into a medical hostel building, igniting a massive fire that engulfed parts of the complex. Verified video from the crash site shows Ramesh emerging from the wreckage as smoke and flames filled the air. The Times of India confirmed both Viswashkumar and Ajaykumar Ramesh were on the passenger manifest. Ajaykumar is presumed dead. Indian authorities are continuing their investigation into what is now one of the deadliest aviation disasters in the country’s history.
