The anthropological type of the population of northern Europe, tall, fair‑haired and slender, called Nordic in the early 19th century, caused much suffering to science and the world at large. He was put on a pedestal by the Third Reich and declared others of lesser value, justifying wars of conquest. The damage was suffered by the whole of humanity as well as by this type, who died en masse both in the ranks of the Nazi army and in the armies of the Allies, which consisted of him to about the same extent.
