On the Road to Berlin | WAR MOVIE | Spanish subtitles

Based on the story "Two in the Steppe" by Soviet veteran writer Emmanuil Kazakevich and war diaries by Konstantin Simonov, the 2015 film follows a young lieutenant, Ogarkov, who is arrested for cowardice and sentenced to death by a military tribunal. Officer Ivan Sinyayev, who served with Ogarkov, believes he was a coward. Private Dzhurabayev is assigned to guard Ogarkov until his execution. When German forces break into the village, Dzhurabayev decides to break through with Ogarkov to rejoin his troops. The guard and the prisoner walk together along military roads, fighting side by side, sharing an overcoat and a tin of food, and forming an unlikely friendship. Directed by Sergei Popov, the film was released in 2015.
