Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office employee arrested following the escape of 10 inmates

A maintenance worker with the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, Sterling Williams, has been arrested in connection with the escape of 10 inmates from a New Orleans jail. Authorities say Williams admitted to turning off water in the escape cell and acted under an inmate’s orders. He faces 11 charges, including malfeasance in office. The inmates escaped through a hole in the wall, crossed an interstate, and vanished. Four have been recaptured; six remain at large, CNN has reported.
