Peahen diligently sits on her egg clutch at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi, without taking a break

A female Indian peafowl, or peahen, sits on her clutch of eggs in a small scrape on the ground at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi during June’s monsoon season. She remains diligent, turning and keeping the eggs moist while incubating them, camouflaged on the ground. Tiny insect parasites and ectoparasites can be seen on her face.
