Первый пуск гиперзвуковой ракеты «Циркон» с борта фрегата «Адмирал Горшков»

On 6 October 2020, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov of the Russian Navy fired the hypersonic missile Circon at a sea target in the Barents Sea, successfully striking it 450 km away with a speed exceeding 8 Mach. The test, conducted from the White Sea, marked the first use of the missile from a surface ship and will be followed by further trials. Circon is intended for deployment on both submarines and surface vessels of the Navy. Admiral Gorshkov, built in 2018 at the Severny Shipyard in St. Petersburg, is the most modern warship of the Northern Fleet and has participated in numerous exercises and a circumnavigation, as well as the main naval parade in St. Petersburg.
