Facial recognition technology will be used by police on the streets of Greater Manchester for the first time next week. Senior officers say that the "phenomenal" new tool could prove to be a "step change" in how they search for both wanted criminals and vulnerable missing people. We visited GMP to see the vans in action and get a look at how it works. Detective Chief Superintendent Neil Jones, Head of Intelligence at GMP, told the Manchester Evening News he believed it was a "really positive news story" for the region.
