Description:

Rainbow performed in Munich, Germany, in 1977. Blackmore fired most of the lineup after the album was recorded, leaving only Dio. He later recruited bassist Jimmy Bain, keyboardist Tony Carey, and drummer Cozy Powell. The band embarked on its first world tour, starting in Montreal on 10 November 1975. Their live shows featured a computer‑controlled rainbow with 3,000 lightbulbs. In 1976, they added Deep Purple’s "Mistreated" to their setlist and extended song lengths for improvisation. Blackmore fired Carey in August 1976, reinstated him, then fired him again in January 1977. He also fired bassist Mark Clarke and replaced him with Bob Daisley. After the 1977–78 tour, Blackmore wanted to move the band in a new commercial direction, but Dio left. The band’s history is documented in Wikipedia.
