Description:

Polish woman Viktoria Kowalska is imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp, where she befriends fellow prisoner Karin Dernakova. After Karin dies, Viktoria assumes her identity and eventually travels to New York, where she meets and marries Alan Spender, a lawyer who has inherited a fortune from a wealthy aunt. The marriage is strained when Alan becomes suspicious of Viktoria’s past and begins to suspect her of foul play. As the story unfolds, Alan’s true nature is revealed: he is a psychopathic killer who has murdered the aunt and is intent on eliminating anyone who might expose him. Viktoria, with the help of her old friend Marc Bennett, uncovers the truth, confronts Alan, and ultimately survives his attempts to silence her, leading to a new life with her son and Marc.
