Savage, the stage name of Italian singer, composer, and producer Roberto Zanetti, emerged in the 1980s as a key figure in Italo‑disco. After early releases with his group TAXI in 1983, he recorded the hit "Don't Cry Tonight" under the name Savage, which became a European success and has been remixed many times.
