The mushroom is connected up so that bio-electrical signals within it trigger a selection of 50 different words. Scientists have recently found that mushrooms have 50 patterns of electrical activity in their hyphae network, and that these may be a language that they use to communicate. Electrical signals in the plants are used to control their bionic arms too so they can play their instruments.
