The Orcs are digging and preparing for war, their torches flickering in the dark, revealing grotesque siege creatures and trolls in the ranks. The air is cold, the sky is a dark steel‑blue, and Howard Shore’s score here is ominous and heavy. Legolas and Tauriel speak in hushed voices about the scale of the threat. It’s here they realize this is not just a small war party. It’s a full‑scale invasion force under the command of Bolg, intended to flank the main battle at Erebor by emerging from a hidden route.
