Description:

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971, known for their blend of country, rock, and folk influences that evolved into a harder rock sound over the years. Their debut album, *Eagles* (1972), produced the singles “Take It Easy” and “Witchy Woman.” The follow‑up *Desperado* (1973) featured the title track, while 1974’s *On the Border* introduced guitarist Don Felder and yielded the hit “Already Gone.” 1975’s *One of These Nights* became their first number‑one album in the U.S., with singles “One of These Nights,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” and “Take It to the Limit.” The 1976 compilation *Greatest Hits (1971–1975)* sold 38 million copies in the U.S. and set the stage for the blockbuster *Hotel California* (1976), which sold more than 26 million copies in the U.S. and 32 million worldwide. The album produced the number‑one singles “New Kid in Town” and “Hotel California.” The band’s sound has been described as “California rock,” a free‑spirited blend of rhythm‑and‑blues, soul, bluegrass, and rock. Over time, the Eagles shifted from country‑rock to a more mainstream rock direction, later exploring country‑rock, blues‑rock, and funk on their 2007 comeback album *Long Road Out of Eden*. The documentary features rare footage of the band’s best live performances and interviews with critics and musicologists, showcasing iconic songs such as “Hotel California,” “Saturday Night,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Take It To The Limit,” and “Lyin’ Eyes.”
