The way the first season of The Rings of Power distorted the original source was noticeable to the naked eye, even to many of those who had never opened The Lord of the Rings in their lives, limiting themselves only to Peter Jackson's film adaptations. And all the mantras of the particularly stubborn ones about the fact that Amazon "did not have the rights to the Silmarillion and drafts, and therefore allegedly had no choice" were explained by banal ignorance. After all, if you open the appendices to what Amazon had the rights to, you will find that many of the main provisions of the same Silmarillion and drafts are quite clearly outlined there.
