Located in the geographic center of the Arabian Peninsula and a 3 hour drive outside of Riyadh, the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia is a collection of medium-sized cities and villages spread out in the middle of the Arabian desert. In this video, we'll explore two of the largest cities in the region and get to see what local Saudi Arabian desert life is like. We'll meet some of the people who live here, taste local specialties (like Kleija, Qassim's famous date-filled pastry), and have a picnic in a beautiful flower-covered desert. We'll even get to try CAMEL PIZZA! As much as Qassim is a desert, it is also known for being the "bread basket" for the Kingdom, where a majority of dates and wheat are grown.
